  1. Thanks for the reply. Hopefully my journey to setup the vm goes well.
  2. Hello, I am just wanting to know if the AMD gpu's pass-through to vm's easier than NVIDIA? It seems that this is the case when I search through the forum. I currently have one gt 8400 I believe as the default system gpu and a gt 730 for my win7 vm. I haven't had any success passing the 730 to the VM though I'm still working on it. So I'm just wondering if people have more success with AMD. I'll be using the vm for basic games and my main desktop pc.
  3. If you can get into the ipmi screen, under the maintenance tab is a restore factory defaults option ... That may reset your bios... I think the Java applet is just for the remote viewing function... Finally got it. I was able to finally get it through IMPI.
  4. I don't have that mobo but I just looked up the specs and it has ipmi. Have you tried using that to get back into the bios? Yes. I'm able to get into it but the remote connection just downloads a Java file. I believe an applet is supposed to open it but all its does is downloads it. I installed java to see if it would pop-up the applet but it doesn't.
  5. Need a little help from someone with the asrock ep2c602-4l/d16. What are the options when it starts booting up? Like F11 to enter bios. Is there a restore default setting? I ended up disabling the on board graphics and of course the gpu I installed isn't working. So I have no way to get into the bios to change it.
  6. More info needed and maybe start your own thread about it in the KVM board Thanks... Should have looked there first. I did see a hot fix related to this issue. Thanks
  7. Can't seem to get this video card to pass through. I'm using a PNY GeForce gt 610 on the ASRock EP2C602-4L MB. I get this message [/img] when I try to start the vm. Have no issues going through vnc to the VM. Any help would be great. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks
  8. Great thanks. I was a little bummed when they didn't work.
  9. Hello, So I need a little help from anyone with the ASRock EP2C602-4L MB. So I got everything hooked up last night. Turned on the server and unraid booted with no problems, unraid saw all my drives. I did notice that some of the ram wasn't present and also IOMMU was disabled. So I shut it down re-seated the ram (which fixed the isseu) and enabled IOMMU in the bios. I then ran memtest86 for half the night to check the ram. When I booted back up only two out of 4 drives are being seen by unraid. When I look in the bios it does see all the drives. I tried different cables with no luck. I'm using the white sata 3 ports. The bottom 2 ports are working the other 4 ports closest to the ram aren't. I've tried all 4 of them. Now I didn't spend much time looking into it as it was late. Would enabling IOMMU cause this issue. I will do more troubleshooting once I get off work but wanted to see what ideas you all had. Thanks
  10. I have three of the Xi4 (dual fan) running on a single socket SM board and one of the dual socket ASRock boards. They clear the ram and are very quiet, installation was a breeze and they come with everything you need to install on Square or Narrow ILM. I have another Noctua setup on an AMD rig and it's been running for 5 years solid with zero issues. Thanks for all the info. I think I'll go with 2 of the NH-U12DXi4 and add more fans if needed.
  11. Anybody have any thoughts on the two heatsinks below. I'll be using the ASRock EP2C602-4L/D16 SSI EEB Server Motherboard. http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemNumber=N82E16835608042 http://www.amazon.com/Noctua-Cooler-LGA2011-Platforms-NH-U12DXi4/dp/B00DWFQ42I#featureBulletsAndDetailBullets_secondary_view_div_1456796362754 I'm not sure that the dual fan heatsink isn't overkill. Any reason why I should need it? I'm using the Define XL R2 case. I'll be running at most 2 Vm's.
  12. Well now it shows out of stock.. Hopefully my order doesn't get canceled.
  13. The ASRock motherboards are back in stock at Newegg. I just placed my order.
  14. Hopefully they get more in stock soon. I still need to order one.
  15. I'll be using the Define XL R2 with the ASRock MB. My current setup is in the XL R2. It's a great case and should fit the ASRock with minimal standoff modification.
