    I've just experienced the exact same problem. I'm in the process of setting up a new USB as described by Hoopster. Like Hoopster I didn't change anything. I noticed that my shares wouldn't work and then started investigating and found the same SMBD errors on the console. If someone has another fix please let me know. I really don't want this to happen again.
