  1. Really thank you for the support! I'm going to order the whole thing soon. The last piece missing is the rack cabinet.. in Italy I only can find them from 22u and up.
  2. Ok, so if I'm using your same Intel expander card, one of the 6 connectors will be linked to one of the connectors on the raid card, isn't it? I'm thinking about buying two LSI 9201-8i because it's plain HBA, works out of the box with unRaid it's cheap. Thank you for the support!
  3. Thank you for your reply. So as a recap, to be sure to not set on fire the whole thing: The chassis I chose is a 24 bay ad has 6 mini SAS connector 8087. To connect them, I need a card like your Intel RES2SV240, but a Raid card in my case is *not* necessary since I don't need to use a raid configuration, but I'm planning to run straight from unRaid, is it correct? And from the Intel card to the back panel I go with 8087-8087 cables.
  4. Thank you for your reply. Would you be so kind to tell me what exact model of expander do you use? Moreover, aren't there bandwidth differences between the HBA connected disks and the one directly attached to the motherboard? And last, if I can: what's the minimum amount of disks to have both two parity disks and two cache disks setup from the beginning, so no need to do tweaks later on when more disks are added to the array (since I saw a couple of videos and the process requests relatively a lot a time)? Thank you again!
  5. Hello everyone, it has been a while since my last post on this forum, and I kindly need your help understanding a couple of things. I'm planning to build a storage server (no VMs needed, just unRaid available on a 10G Network), probably starting with 10x 12TB hdd. I am a Pro license user, so correct me if I'm wrong, the limit is 30 disks for the array (actually, I would like to set 2 of them as parity disks), plus up to 24 as cache disks, right? The plan is to start with 10hdd + 2 parity disks + 2 m.2 cache disks, and fill in other drives when needed. My second question is about bandwidth/pci lanes, a thing that I can not fully understand and calculate by myself: To support the potential total of 32 disks (28+2 from the array, 2 of cache that I planned), I'll need HBA cards, but I also need bandwidth to run two M.2 ssds, and a 10G card. What I chose as processor is a Xeon E3-1275v6, and my motherboard of choice was a P10S-WS from Asus. The listed xeon can handle 16pci lanes, so will the described configuration work? And last, again about bandwidth, how many HBA cards will I need to handle the 32 disks (Seagate IronWolf Pro 12TB and 960 evo 250GB)? Thank you in advance, Regards
  6. No, sorry. Is it in the same directory? I mean the same I wrote below (anyway, in that folder I can only find 8 and 8.1 drivers, no 10 folders) Moreover, where can I find older versions of that driver? I will also try this way!
  7. +10 There have been a few incidents lately with custom isos being the problem for not getting the drivers installed. Sure! Directly from microsoft website, is a legit copy of Windows 10!
  8. Hey, I'm stuck on the installation of Windows 10 because the system doesn't recognize the driver! It says that new driver for the device can't be found. I've downloaded the drivers from the 4th link on the support page (I've clicked on the "virtl drivers ISO" link under my VM configuration tab). Once booted up the VM, I begin the installation, then to load the driver I select "browse", then E: driver (virtio-win-0.1.122) --> viostor --> w8.1 --> amd64. Is something wrong? I can navigate to all the folders of the iso, but I can't load even from w8 x64. Any help appreciated.. thank you!
  9. Hi, thank you for all the support you gave me since here. I have a last question: how to set up two VMs with the same hardware (i mean with the same vendor hardware, like two mices and two keyboards)? Thank you
  10. As the title says... is it possible? I'm building up two Win10 VM from unRaid, and I would like to play games with a friend, sharing my computer. Is it possibile to create and assign different ips to the two VM, so that I can play the same game on the two vms? Thank you.
  11. Just because the h*ckintosh has the same problem: the first gpu connected will be the designed gpu for the system (os X is not being virtualized, it is a physical installation). Ok, so I think I'm gonna swap those gpu every time I need to pass from one system to another. I have a last question, please: is it possible to use a USB device (such as a pen drive or an HHD) as parity disk? I mean those disks that you select in "array" section under "main". Thank you
  12. Hi everyone! This is my first post here, so hello to everybody! I've purchased this product after seeing Linustech's video about two players gaming on the same pc with two different instances of Windows running. Before asking my question, my config: Rampage V Extreme + 5960x Gtx 980 Gtx 670 GeForce 210 The question: Is it somehow possible to "force" unRaid to boot in a Gpu that IS NOT in the first pcie slot? Is it the gpu needed even after the configuration of the two VM (and after having set their automatic startup)? I really need the first gpu (I mean, the closest to the cpu) to be the Gtx980, since I'm also running a h*ckintosh.. it would be very annoying to swap each time those gpus! Thank you all
