  1. I looked into it and I think that’s going to be the answer for my problem, that’s the only easy way of doing it.
  2. I'm their only IT person, it's a really small company with just 8 employees, each having their own computer. They want a file server to keep company files on and that's why they want the logging, because they had some files tampered with/deleted by employees, both by mistake and intentionally.
  3. I'm deploying unRAID for a company which wants full file logging(who opened(or downloaded)/edited/deleted what and when). I've searched the forums but haven't found anything. Is this possible, even through a plugin? The file shares will be SMB only.
  4. Thanks! That appears to have fixed it!
  5. I have the community application plugin and I installed the plex docker. It works fine but as soon as i add my tv shows share it turns into an orphan image and completely dies. Any ideas?
  6. This is my switch's configuration, it seems to be purely port-based multi-link. I can't post the output because as soon as i click Apply it just goes down and I can't navigate the webgui. To bring it back up I had to wipe the USB drive and reinstall everything. Yeah... after a while I'm starting to realize that that think is a piece of junk... It claims a lot but in reality it sucks.

Start with connecting just ONE port and then apply the setting. You may need a console connection to verify the state of the ethernet port on the unRAID system. I'll try that since my MoBo has a serial port and I'll let you know

  9. I'm a total noob, how do I post the syslog output? On the switch I can create up to 6 groups(I'm using 2, 1 for unRAID and 2 for my Mac) of up to 8 ports(I'm using 2 ports for the Mac and 4 for unRAID). The load balancing I'm using is 802.3ad which is supported by the switch.
  10. These are my network settings except for the bonding type(if I change it to 802.3ad it breaks) I'm running 6.1.9 Trial (for now)
  11. I have a Dell PowerConnect 2724 Switch that supports 802.3ad LACP and I've used it for a while on my Mac. I run unRAID on an ASUS P9D-E/4L with 4 Gigabit LAN ports. I created a new LACP group on the switch, connected all the cables, but as soon as I tell it to use 802.3ad in the network settings it brings down ALL the LACP groups(not just the unRAID ones), and doesn't connect to the network causing a big mess. Any help?
  12. I want to add some drives to my unRAID server, and I found this LSI controller(reading on the forum they seem to be the best ones):LSI 3Ware 9650se-12ml. I just wanted to know if it's compatible since it's quite expensive.
  13. Is the ASUS Pike 2308 controller compatible with unRAID?
  14. I'm planning to make a multi-purpose powerful home server running file shares, VMs and all that stuff. I'm just undecided whether to go for more powerful dismissed server stuff(Xeon E5-1650v2) or new less powerful hardware(E3-1231v3) for about the same amount of money. The problem is that I'm going to use a lot of PCI lanes and a lot of CPU power since this server will have to run Plex, streaming multiple 1080p streams at once, surveillance software with 5 3MP IP cameras constantly recording and encoding in H.264 format, OS X Server with Mail, Calendar, Contacts, and Time Machine Services, pascom MobyDick PBX, etc. As for PCIe devices I'm going to be running two basic gpus for the VMs, two dual-port gigabit NICs, an LSI HBA, and a TV tuner. The only thing I'm uncertain of is whether the dismissed server hardware is going to be worth it or if I'm better off buying new hardware. Has anyone had experiences with used server gear?
