  1. Oops did not realize that. I was convinced USB was supported. Then problem is "solved" and case closed. Thanks for the help. JM USB drives will NOT work as part of the array in an unRAID machine. The drives have to be connected be SATA, IDE, or ESATA for them to be available to use.
  2. What you say is correct if one would like to create a real and expandable server. Here this friend would like to reuse a machine he has to create a small storage server. Idea would be to plug a few external disks on all these USB ports available. Not the perfect solution I would agree but just trying to reuse what is available. If at the end the solution is not working or not adapted then he will have to look for something else but would like to make sure it is the case before telling him to do so... Thanks, JM
  3. Hell Prostuff1, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately this option does not seem to be possible due to the format of the machine. http://www.dell.com/fr/p/inspiron-zino-hd-410/pd As you can see on their website I do not think you can add any extra PCI card in it. JM
  4. Hello all, I am not completely new to Unraid but still not a specialist and would need your advice. I am now installing a Unraid server for a friend of mine. The server will be on a "Dell Inspiron Zino 400" machine. As far as I can tell this machine has a Broadcom BCM57780 network controller. If this machine is working perfectly fine on Windows 7, Unraid seems to have problems recognizing the Network chip and so not able to access the network. Too bad as the format of the box is just perfect for this type of use. Would you have anything that could help me solve this? Is it possible to add additional drivers to the install in the USB key so my controller will be recognized? I guess it is a driver issue. Any advice or help is very welcome. Thanks in advance, JM
  5. Hello, first of all hello to everyone as this is my first post on this forum. I have installed UnRaid for the first time today and made a first test with three disks and the free version of the software. As I was convinced with the overall setup I have decided to upgrade to the paid version and add more disks (4 at the moment). My problem is to "reset" my disk configuration. UnRaid is looking for me to put the disks in the exact same config as my initial test (for example having a 160Gb disk in the array where now I would like it to be used for the cache). If not I get the "Invalid Configuration" message. How can I reset the configuration and restart from a blank page? Thanks
