  1. Hey all,

Curious to see if i'm doing something wrong here, Lidarr isn't importing any of my downloads and doesn't appear to see them...
As attached is what i find when I do a manual import (files have been downloaded...) and what my mappings are.

    Many Thanks

If those settings don't help, goto 'Settings'  >>>  'Network Settings'.  Set the " Default gateway: " to 192.168.1.1   (I believe that this is the base address that Dlink uses for all their routers.)

Odd, looks like that has fixed it :o
    The hells with that?

You shouldn't need to port forward for unraid to get internet access.  Port forwarding is so stuff can get in not out.

Tried setting DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 on your Unraid box?

    Those are already set :/

  3. Hey all,

Just replaced my router which had failed with a 'Dlink DSL2900AL' - Now im finding my unraid box cant connect to the outside world AT ALL. (including updating containers)

I've tried port forwarding the ports used by some apps such as sonarr and hasn't helped.

If anyone knows their way around routers like this please give me a hand, this router is much better than my last other than this!

    Many Thanks

Is it better if you browse to the GUI via the ip address instead of the name?

    Marginally.
For some reason i get "tower’s server DNS address could not be found."  when i search with name. & it MIGHT load within like 20 mins if i use the IP.
And no nothing has changed on my network (im the only one with admin rights) unless my router is failing?

    The entire zip file.

Also, no particular reason within the syslog as to what's going on...

    Heres the diag :)

    Thanks a ton!

Just had a read of the HDD errors & looks like one of them has 14 odd errors :o
I know a few of them are pretty old drives but were working okay in the meantime :P

Could that be the issue with the slowdown? - All though when i boot into GUI mode and look at unraid via localhost it seems to work quickly without a problem.

  6. Hey all,

Yesterday suddenly had some extreme slowdowns and has been the same since.

    I currently run.

    - 1x windows 10 VM

    - Couchpotato

    - Sonarr

    - Rtorrent

    - nzbget

All of the above is running on a:

    i7 3930k. 12gb ram, 12TB storage, 4tb parity, 128gb ssd cache.

Here is my syslog file & i've got the diag files but unsure which to upload.

    Many Thanks :)

Alright so i've reinstalled the software onto my USB drive - It comes up on the webui instantly - I input my key & it 'times out' and doesn't work from there... (tested on latest version).

Tried a second router and it makes no difference.

For some reason i get "tower’s server DNS address could not be found."  when i search with name. & it MIGHT load within like 20 mins if i use the IP.
And no nothing has changed on my network (im the only one with admin rights) unless my router is failing?

After some more investigation - It appears that the main issue im having is the connection is timing out - occasionally if i wait 15-20 mins & refresh i can access the page for a minute or so then it craps out again. Is there any ideas on this front?

  7. Hello,

What is your budget?  - $2000 NZD

How many drives do you want your server to be able to support and how much capacity do you need? - 8+

Is expandability important to you?  If so, what's your long term goal? - Not so much, not really worried.

Are you interested in running any unRAID Add Ons (see here)?  - Plex (3 co-current transcodes), CouchPotato, Sonarr, Rutorrent.

Do you want to run green/low power drives or faster 7200 rpm drives?  - Was thinking of using a SSD for the VM's and the rest it doesn't matter too much.

Do you have any spare parts laying around that you would like to apply towards your build?  - Id be looking to buy a whole system.

If you already have parts in mind, please oh pretty please post links to them so that we don't have to look them up.

Here is the list i was thinking of using... http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/8kJnsY

EDIT: Plan has changed - Im going to use my current PC as my unraid server and build another pc for myself.

So the pc that im going to use for unraid consists of....

I7 3930k (how well does unraid handle utilizing multiple cores??)

    12GB ram ( one faulty mb slot :'( )

    gigabyte LGA2011 UD3 MB

120gb SSD (probably wont be used as i read unraid is booted off usb?)

Many thanks guys, thought i'd ask here due to you all being the unraid experts!
