  1. I'm glad you mentioned that. I hadn't realized I was out of date. (It never showed up as an available update like it has in the past.) I just updated to 6.6. Quite different!! (and the log viewer problem went away, so I'm good there) I owe you my thanks. Now I need to get back to trying to find a file access log. I can't believe I'm the first one to look for something like this.
  2. OK, makes sense. (and thank you) Going back to my original question: Is there a way to get file access logging on unraid?
  3. That was from the tools menu. No log related plug-ins are installed. (Just checked) I'm on unraid 6.5.1
  4. Yes, but even if I copy it to a .txt file and read it with notepad, no mention of anything except the webgui logins. Nothing about file access.
  5. Also interesting. If I use tail to view /var/log/syslog, no mention of ANY logins show up. Is there an option that I have to turn on?
  6. Silly question: How do I "uncheck" categories. I don't seem to have checkboxes. (See screenshot)
  7. Thank you. I will check both out.
  8. I've looked ... having a hard time finding this. Is there an access log on Unraid? At a minimum showing me who logged in and when? But ideally, an option to see what files were accessed? Is this even possible on unraid? Seems pretty basic, yet I can't find it.
  9. If you can't find them, most likely they are inside the docker image. Verify that the app is configured to save the files to a path that is mapped to a real location on the array. i.e. if you have /data mapped to /mnt/user/data, then make sure the app is saving stuff to /data. That was exactly what was happening. I did the mapping (a bit different than you suggested, but same concept) and it's working as expected. I hadn't realized that it could save inside the docker. (New to dockers). That was pretty interesting. Thanks!
  10. I installed btsync. It appears to be working. However I cannot find where in the file system it is storing the files. Any ideas?
  11. Fair enough. Just helps to know what I'm working with.
  12. OK, good to know. Is hardening of the OS on the roadmap? (If you happen to know?)
  13. Thanks. Appreciate it. A bit of a security issue, but nothing I can't fix temporarily by keeping it behind a VPN.
  14. Is it possible to log into the unRAID admin page with an account *other than* root? I'd prefer (if at all possible) to minimize the use of the root account. Also, it would be nice to designate other accounts for administration functionality. Is this possible?
  15. That is certainly an option. Was going to set up a W2012R2 server to run SQL Server and maybe AD. Might be an idea to just virtualize it on my unRAID box. If I do then that makes perfect sense.
  16. Yeah, I don't want to back up to a cloud subscription service, but rather another NAS. Can rsync be set up with a GUI interface in a docker app, or is the standard way to set it up as a bash script using cron for scheduling? If both NAS can run crashplan you don't need the cloud subscription service, you can backup NAS to NAS. Granted, a rsync solution would make the files directly accessible on the other NAS without going through crashplan' software. Now that's interesting. I'll take a look.

  18. Hello, I'm new to unraid (coming from QNAP). I want to be able to do a NAS to NAS backup, whereas I have an automated copy of specified folders to another NAS across the LAN. Is there an app for this? (Docker or otherwise?) I've been looking but have been unable to find.
