  1. Hello, The one thing that i dont like about my current vm is not being able to use on board usb headers and wasting a pcie slot for usb. I am building a new server with 5900X and RTX 3080. Looking for good x570 motherboards with good iommu groups and separate usb controllers. Thanks for the help.
  2. Hello, Been using unraid for a few months with a windows VM as my primary computer. I have a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD as a cache drive. When nzbget starts unpacking large nzbs all the other dockers become unresponsive(web interfaces do not load), Windows VM becomes slow, sometimes even the unraid web interface does not load quickly. I imagine unpacking the large nzbs is reaching the SSD's bottleneck. Is there any solution to this, Can I use a separate SSD to run my Windows VM and other dockers?
  3. Hello All, I played with Unraid before but never really set it up all the way. Decided to spend some time and setup the array with windows VM and gpu passthrough. However when I go to setting and enable VM's the status of VM manager is Stopped. It does not change to running no matter how many times I disable and enable vm support. Attached logs. Any help is appreciated. tower-diagnostics-20170226-1951.zip
  4. That makes sense, attached diagnostics zip with the vm running. - Yep, works in Unraid GUI mode and console. - When the mouse is connected in Passthrough, mouse works, keyboard doesn't. Same as when it is connected to a separate USB port. - Connected directly at the back to the 2.0 ports. - Before starting the VM: Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0781:5583 SanDisk Corp. 5. Hi Saarg, Thanks for looking into this. I have tried different USB ports, the Corsair keyboard comes up in the list of devices to pass through at the VM editing screen, but it doesn't work. Here are the diagnostics. tower-diagnostics-20160707-0713.zip

  7. Hello, So I just bought and setup latest Unraid beta, installed Windows 10 using VNC. I passed through my graphics card and my Razer mouse and Corsair Keyboard, infact I specifically got a different brand keyboard because I heard Unraid has trouble passing through devices with same vendor. My keyboard lights up but doesn't work. Any help is appreciated. 8. I don't want to waste another thread but I have a small question. I got the Asus Z170 PRO Motherboard. Asus is advertising Realtek ALC1150 motherboard audio. Do I get to take advantage of this within the VM? Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks everyone, I should have all the hardware by tomorrow. I have one more question, I am still on the fence if I should virtualize Windows 10 and go through the hassle of passing USB ports, hotplugging issues but the concept of NAS and gaming in one machine is very attractive. I guess my question is, I want to do a test run like this: Boot up Unraid - > Format and Assign a SSD as cache without assigning any other drives -> Install Windows 10 and do everything necessary with and test some games and other applications I need. Can I do this or do I should I have a precleared drive as a data drive assigned to run the test?
  10. My understanding here(correct me if I am wrong) is that Unraid will do the same when adding a new drive to the array but will also take the array offline while doing it. This shouldn't be a problem with new installs right? I saw this video for setup and initial config. Has anything changed since then? Any help is appreciated, Thanks.
  11. Maybe this is the wrong forum to post. Incase anyone comes looking, here are the parts I decided up on. CPU - i7 6700k Mobo - Asus Z170 PRO PSU - EVGA 850W 80+ Now I need to look for a CPU cooler and a case.
  12. Long story short, I purchased an EVGA 1070 on impulse. Now I need to figure out the rest of the components for a gaming Unraid build. I am a novice. Budget: 800-900 dollars. CPU: Is i7 6700k a good choice, seems to be very popular among gamers. In conjunction with Unraid is there something else I should look at? Motherboard: I am looking for a motherboard that can handle 6-8 drives. Case: Good looking silent case that can fit 8 drives with good airflow. Power Supply: ? Thanks.
