  1. I ended up picking up a used X7SPA. I had be looking at the Asus P8H77-I as well but since I got the X7SPA for less than the Asus it was a no brainer!
  2. Awesome!! Thanks for that link!
  3. Are motherboards even still manufactured with regular PCI slots? I thought those went the way of the Dodo in the mid-2000's. Just curious, but what are you plugging into a PCI slot anyway?
  4. Curious if anyone had a lightly used Q25B they were wanting to dump. Hard to justify $125 for a brand new one...
  5. Looking for one of these to start my unRaid build. Really don't care if its a D510 or D525 or if its an "H" or "HF". Just looking for one in good shape with no issues... I'm in Florida, USA. Thanks!
  6. Yeah, this drive is perfect for a survelliance DVR or if you were building a DVR at home but not for long term data storage of anything else. It's made to handle continuous streams of data without worring about the occasional bad sector...
  7. I'm brand new to the Unraid game and am just now getting the parts to build my server. One of the big reasons I have waited to purchase your software is because of 4.7's inability to use hard drives larger than 2TB. If you feel the only real problem with 5.0 is the slow writing issue that only is happening to a fraction of your users, then I would say its time to release it. Those bugs can be worked out later... Please don't wait to release 5.0 until the 64-bit kernel is ready. That could be added in to a 5.1, 5.2, etc...
  8. Damn I saw this post too late. I'm sure another will pop up...
  9. @Ford That's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks for that! Can't wait to start building out my server with one of these boards.
  10. I don't currently have one of these boards but how are you using a browser to view IPMI information? Are you pointing your brower to the IP address of your server? I see that Supermicro has a program one can download called IPMIview but I'm more curious as to how one can see this information in a browser without downloading anything.
  11. Great. I think I will look into getting either the 510 or 525 model. I checked the memory compatibility list but I am having trouble finding the exact Micron memory that Supermicro is recommending. Did you just put in any well know brand of SO-DIMM's in your boards? I can't imagine that I would need more than 4GB since all this will be doing is streaming HBR .mkv files to my HTPC.
  12. Ok, great! I'll keep that board in mind and read that thread from the link you provided.
  13. Wow! What a cool little MB! This Unraid box will be exclusively for hosting all my ripped Blu-Ray content for plackback to my HTPC in the living room. Does this little board have the horsepower to feed ~25Mbps .mkv's to my HTPC with no problems? Are all atom boards compatible with Unraid? The hardware compatibility page looks to be a bit dated as most of the motherboards listed on it are EOL. Are there any hardware configurations I need to NOT look for or is Unraid fairly compatible across the board? I just want to make sure what I buy works without much tinkering... I'll look around for a better price on that X7 you listed. Newegg has it listed for $220 which seems high for an Atom board to me anyway.
  14. Going to start on my first Unraid build soon. Wanting to use the Lian Li PC-Q25B case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112339 That case supports a maximum of seven 3.5 drives so I need a motherboard that has at least 6 SATA ports. Would love to find one that supports 8 however. Any ideas? Really don't care what platform it is (e.g. AMD, Intel, Atom, etc..) so long as it is compatible with Unraid. This has been my biggest problem, trying to narrow down what to get but also make sure it is compatible with Unraid.
