  1. thanks for the response mate I appreciate it, I spent hours on this setup lol The USB ones I got are linked below I ordered 3 sets with one being a dud that was replaced free, expected with made in China stamped to the side lol. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/220607088294 the hdmi ones I used two kinds the first link worked fine for about 10mtrs where as the second link was good and solid over 20mtrs Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121996830549 Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/182063727646 both pass audio and video at 60hz flawlessly with only some minor drop out's when lights are turned on, but that was Found to be caused by running the cat6 to close to the power cables on the light circut. best regards Matthew any more questions yell out and I appoligise on the late reply
  2. I have this issue with the boys pc, every time he goes to use it i need to restart the server (gtx560 doesnt support softboot) I fixed it by disabling windows update in services: Windows key and the r key then type services.msc and scroll down to windows update and disbale, note: you need to hit properties then disable it in there other wise it will just start again. I then sit there once a week and run all the updates by rein able ing it then searching, windows updates are actually important
  3. most cases have more then enough space to mount drives these days so not an overly common thing. I know my common spot for ssd's is to double sided tape to the bottom of the case (this adds a leet aspect) I do know that on ebay you can buy HDD bay mounts that you could rig in there but they would heat up rather bad due to the lack of air flow in there. a few of these mite work but yer that heat will be the killer http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hard-Drive-Caddy-Tray-Carrier-Sled-Screws-Apple-Mac-Pro-2006-2008-/172401629206?hash=item2823f01816:g:C20AAOSwh2xX-V6R best regards.
  4. Could sell it. Im shore someone on here would have a use for it
  5. Gooday all, I have been on unraid for about 8 months now. My reasons for use, well i love virtualization, all the way down to the frustration of it lol. I also have two children who wanted computers, and a love for movies, so you can imagine how happy i was to find that unraid can control my storage and run the kids at the same time, well that wasnt enough so what my system does is Holds a a 7tb array (Friggan almost full already) Runs three VMs Mine and both of the kids The system is pretty much at its limit but holds up well with all three of us playing skyrim Special edition(with mods) The specs are: CPU: 4790k overclocked to 4.8ghz Motherboard: ASUS Maximus Vii hero RAM: 24gb hyperx running at the stock 1600Mhz HDD:1x 120gb samsung SSD (cache) 4x 2tb WD Greens, 1x 1tb hitachi <was laying around Powersupply: 600w thermaltake EVO (with flashy lights adds more leet:P) GPU's: Unraid gpu is onboard intel, mine is a gtx970, the kids use a gtx560 <the frustion is real when i need to reboot and a r9 270 Cooling: Custom loop, 560x50x140 rad cpu and gpu blocks d9 pump, massive res As seen in the attached images the system is bolted to the wall in a custom made cupboard made by yours truly, I am using hdmi over Ethernet ebay specials to run video and usb into each of the kids rooms as well as my pc into the bed room. ask if you would like a link i have tested them over about 15mtrs and had some pretty good success out of them. well thats the braggin out the way now pics:P I hope you all enjoy and keen for a chat any time .......>warning lots of images below<...........
