  1. thanks again. make_bootable solved the problem and its back to life. glad to be here in that forum. all the best.....folks
  2. thanks again for reply. run make_bootable.bat in windows machine as administrator ? ....don´t know why that time is shown !
  3. check without a problem. added 3 photos with results
  4. Ok i can do that. But why to boot the other PC with the drive ? There can nothing happen ? I´ll do it better in a laptop. Can´t do experiments with my main system ! I´ll let you know what chkdsk found. ...without any options yes ?
  5. I started in ILO und chosed bootmenue. From USB. Result: Same message as before: ... boot error Thanks for reply. Only got that message during boot up: Attempting Boot from USB DriveKey (C:) boot error Its a HP Proliant Microserver Gen8 with an Xeon Quadcore 2,4 Ghz
  6. Thanks for reply. Only got that message during boot up: Attempting Boot from USB DriveKey (C:) boot error Its a HP Proliant Microserver Gen8 with an Xeon Quadcore 2,4 Ghz
  7. good morning, can not start gui after update to 6.5. I did modification in indent.cfg to Use_ssl="no" and can´t find a row with myserver with special characters. All looks pretty well but server starts with a beep beep but no access to webgui unraid. Any suggestions are very welcome. thanks in advance by the way i´m german and that would be my prefered language to chat or whatever.
  8. Hurraaay - Back to life ! Thank you very much !!! All is there and everthing is working. The only thing was to change NIC adress to my prefered one and maybe a small issue: Errors Found Suggested Fix Docker application Krusader has volumes being passed that are mounted by Unassigned Devices, but they are not mounted with the slave option To help with a trouble free experience with this application, you need to pass any volumes mounted with Unassigned Devices using the slave option. Fix it here: What does that mean and how to solve ? But this was a perfect lesson for me, to understand more about unraid and how it works, boot e.g. I had the right feeling about what i did wrong. Please apologize asking again and again. But what I have lerned in my life is - better ask twice before doing a mistake. It could be the last mistake for your server. Naturaly there is a backup of the files, but there is always a gap in time and you are always missing something - just a few things. First of all I made a complete copy of the Flash and saved it to a directory of my windows machine. Safty first ! Its good to understand what files and configs are important and that you should have a copy of them. Its also clear now what to do if an usbstick chrashes - I think same procedure. I don´t understand clear what happened during that past second copy of the flash dir(or the move I launched) whether its was the fault choosing wrong option move, or by droping it into Krusader to same directory of existing FLASH dir and it launches than a move ! (makes no sense in logic for me). Must have been my fault ! But I actually don´t want to test that again Thanks for all your support - great forum and great unraid !
  9. yes dockers for plex and Krusader and no VM´s. In my mind i like to keep both files. Thanks mate
  10. ok, - copied all files from unRAIDServer-6.4.1-x86_64.zip to "old" usbstick. But didn´t format the stick - right or ? but one more question. I´m asked now to overwrite - old docker.cfg wich is about 168 bytes with new install one wich is about 21 Bytes - old domain.cfg wich is about 199 Bytes with new install one wich is about 17 Bytes - old template-repos wich is about 44 Bytes with new install one wich is about 44 Bytes Shouldn´t i keep old docker.cfg and domain.cfg ? Just asking for savety and my logic ! After that i would copy Basic.key and super.dat to config directory of usb stick. Am I correct in that ? Than I will give it a try to boot the microserver Thanks
  11. ok, dowloaded now unRAIDServer-6.4.1-x86_64.zip and licence key file named basic.key you suggest now to copy all files from unzipped file unRAIDServer-6.4.1-x86_64.zip to the old "defective" usbstick yes ? But there are still files in config folder of old usbstick. Doesn´t it make sense to copy all of unzipped unRAIDServer-6.4.1-x86_64.zip files to the usb stick except of the dir config? otherwise it would overrite all that files or wouldn´t it? I decided to copy whole directory config for safty to windows machine as well. And I´m pretty shure that i did ecaxtly that failure by clicking move instead of copy - right ? Silly me ! Thanks again
  12. I try again - on the old defective bootstick are following dirs and files. First picture is root. In all dirs in the root, except of the config dir are no ! files. In second picture are the dirs and files of config dir. I hope i made it clear now. And again - what to do ?
  13. I´am not that familar with linux and unraid and my homelanguage is not english. I just want help how i can solve that prob to start unraid and my array. Tried to avoid problems to put defective stick in windows machine and may be create throughout this more probs. It just my suggestion in logical sense to make new bootstick. And ok - you are telling me take the old defective one and have a look to on a windows machine? yes ? Ok i will do.
  14. In my mind I thought it would be better to do nothing with the defective bootstick and create a second working identical one on a second usb on a windows machine. As it would happen when your bootstick fails. What to do? What could it be else if you fail in choosing move instead of copy ? All files than are copied in test directory and subdir called Flash. Again - this is on the unraid array !!!!! How can i access it with a nonworking system that does not boot ? I think i have to create a new booting usb stick ! and leave the old one as it is ! How can I do this ? Not more not less. Thank you
  15. I don´t understand and I wrote - I don´t have acess to unraid and GUI ! How can I copy things directories and files from an Array i don´t see and having no access to ? What is procedure if your bootstick is defectiv ? What to do to get a new(replacement) bootstick to work on an existing unraid and array on a server ? Thanks
  16. No, i got license. Can i create new bootstick with trial license and then using my licence ? I want to avoid doing much more failures. I don´t know exactly what happend - but must be same case if the bootstick is damaged or fails. Just want to know can i create new bootstick and use it in the server ? are my data still present ? i made copy of Flash on the array - but can´t acess it without booting. And after that can i copy some config files or whatever to the new bootstick to got my unraid back running ? Thanks for your reply.
  17. Hi, its me doing the failure. I just want to avoid losing all my data. Its a microserver and the ilo just working. For me the hardware is ok but the bootstick is damaged. I mate a copy of the flashdrive as shown in that video. May be i used move instead of copy in Krusader. It went so damn quick ! I feel that i lost my usb boot stick. What to do to create a new bootstick? I got an identical one here in my hands, but like to avoid more failures to damage my aray. Its a 3x 2tb array with an parity as 4th drive. Just create a new usb bootstick with free unraid ? And what to do exactly to get full access back on my array? Thank you very much for any reply. Double-T
  18. hi guys, did some more investigations about that strange speed problem. Fideled arount with new drivers for usb3, sata, network on main PC and changed them all to newer versions. Copied then 4,3 Gigabyte files from usb port via network on unraid NAS and speed started with 112 Mb/sec and went back to about 64 Mb/sec and remaining to finish. I can comfortable live with that speed.. At least its very strange how complex this materia is and if you are obviously thinking its caused on unraid you will be teached that it could be on several issues with drivers e.g. on your PC and Network ! Again thanks for all hints and comments
  19. good morning, it seems that i still have problems. I mount today an external harddrive via Unassigned Devices. I get it to run an i can see ntfs partitions with all content. I started copying files to check speed on it to use it for backups e.g. Process started with about 65 MB/sec, but again within 30 sec. it weaks to about 10 MB/sec. Its connected via usb 3 on unraid server. Anybody an idea why that now is happening with external drives too ! thanks
  20. thanks to all which were involved in that disscussion. I think I solved problem. It was the HP Switch ! copied now from Laptop, Main PC to and vice versa to Unraid Server and it went perfect. File 1.1 GB with a 112 MB/sec without weaking down. Completly the whole file. There was an option in managed switch for autonegotition and I swiched to forced 1 Gbit. From that moment on full speed ! Hurray. Don´t know what bug could be in firmware of switch, normally it should negotiate to max speed for its own. Thank you all very much.
  21. ok, copied with laptop a movie about 1.1 GB from Main PC and it had an average of about 38 MB/sec. Both Systems got SSD in and copied from and to. Isn´t it for a 1 GB Network not a bid slow ? 40MB multiplicated by 8 is around 320 Mbit. got a manged HP switch(HP PS1810 8G) in network for complete internal traffic
  22. agree, it must be a strange idiotic problem - may be with my network. i will make some more test with laptop copying to main pc without unraid server and check that speeds. and its may be an accident in time that this problem is recognized and i had it before too! Strange.
  23. good morning thanks for that explanation. Makes it much more clear. Just one more questions. Why is on unraid that write speed at least that slow ? I understand caching etc etc Would it make sense to use a hardware controller ? - or a cache with a ssd ? I feel good with that parity check time too - before changing writing options to array by your hints it took about 30 hours ! This morning parity nearly finished and got some smart issues mentioned as follows. 5 Reallocated sector count 0x0033 194 194 140 Pre-fail Always Never 42 197 Current pending sector 0x0032 200 200 000 Old age Always Never 2 198 Offline uncorrectable 0x0030 200 200 000 Old age Offline Never 1 thanks again for all your support and just to point out - i love unraid, its offering a lot of unique features, but the write times are driving me crazy
  24. i don´t understand - its starting with 112 mb ! and then weaks to now 25mb/s how could it be the driver then ?
  25. checked all with deactivated parity, - write speed about 25 MB/sec. could not be a problem of the wd green. would it be better with more ram ?
