  1. ^^ Thank you so much that did it, also had to remove the dir that was created by Dynamix ....
  2. friends, please at least guide me, how to roll back ...
  3. OK fair enough ....... How do I roll back the changes and get the original web GUI... ?
  4. Hi Friends I didnt go all the pages so this might have been answered somewhere in the middle, apologies for this, but while installing the second file I am getting the below error ... root@Tower:/boot/config/plugins#installplg dynamix.plugin.control-2.1.0-noarch_64-bergware.plg Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/webGui/include/local_prepend.php' (include_path='.:') in Unknown on line 0 BTW I also have lost my regular web gui. I get the same error there as well.... Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/webGui/include/local_prepend.php' (include_path='.:') in Unknown on line 0 I am on Beta 10 Where did I go wrong .. ?
  5. Thanks I found one here ... http://www.diskinternals.com/linux-reader/ works perfectly ...
  6. Hi All, If for some reason, I am unable to have unraid running, and I want my data on the HDD to be accessed, so that I can copy over the data on to other drives, what are my options of performing this. Remember I do not have a functional UNRAID running. Is there a way I can copy my data to other drives. Kindly assist Regards Sammy
  7. Any one any update on this ..... I am still waiting to place the order ...??
  8. I guess I failed to mention.. the PSU was perfect and I am still using it in another machine a year later. It was just pointing out how sensitive hardware is the the power supply. As far as board/CPU recommendations...I'm always scared of CHEAP mobos. I built a few machines when you could overclock with a pencil, and I think I found every lemon in the cheap motherboard world, so now I buy quality boards and intel cpus. If price is the primary driver for you, I'm the wrong person to ask, but I would pick a CPU, decide how many SATA ports you need, and go to newegg's advanced filters for form-factor, video, lan, etc and you'll probably get down to 2 or 3 boards. From there, search this form with the model number and see what you find. I'd probably advise you to go with an ASUS or a Gigabyte over an MSI or Jetway. To answer your question NO, the A55M-P35 will not take a AM3 chip. That's an FM1 board. If you want a board that supports your old chip, you'll need to find one with the right socket type. The AM3 in "AMD 3.2 GHz AM3 Athlon II 260" is the socket type, so that will be a critical search criteria for your board selection. These appear to be the Newegg.com options for an AM3 in an ATX form factor. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007625+600007943+600009016&QksAutoSuggestion=&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&Configurator=&IsNodeId=1&Subcategory=22&description=&hisInDesc=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&AdvancedSearch=1&srchInDesc= Don't see anyone else who has mentioned it on the forums, so you may be in uncharted waters, but the ASUS M4A88T-V has video, lan, and 5 SATA ports for $90... that's probably the one I'd choose if I was in your shoes. You may have another supplier you like to use with other options, but you'll need to fit the AM3 and ATX criteria. Cheers, whiteatom Thanks Whiteatom, for a detailed reply, ok taking your advice I am stearing clear from MSI and AMD all together. Gigabyte I already have a quality mobo but Gigabyte gave me HPA problem so I avoid going for Gigabyte. ASUS seems good with an Intel CPU (as you suggested) so below is my reconsidered list with intel CPU and ASUS board ..... let me know if this seems ok ... Intel 2.6 GHz LGA 1155 Dual Core G620 Processor ASUS P8H61- M LX REV 3.0 Motherboard A little expensive from what I initially stated but its okie I guess for better quality. I hope, the above Mobo will take the CPU as both are Socket LGA 1155. Let me know and I shall place the order ... Regards Sammy
  9. 90% of people here run desktop grade hardware. What I said was to check boards that are known to be compatible and choose the cheapest option. I did NOT say that you had to run server grade stuff. Look here for more info on what is proven to work (and not) with unraid. Ok thanks for the link ........ for processor its listed there ... Any; 2.0GHz or higher is recommended, but many users are happy with 1.6GHz, at least one was fine with a 1.2GHz CPU; [2], [3] Single and multiple core processors are fine. As of unRAID v4.4, multiple core processors are fully supported. For versions of unRAID through v4.3.3, multiple core processors work fine, but only one processor is used. So I guess I am fine with the AMD processor I have listed ........ Coming to Motherboard .... since there was no specific listing i went to Motherboards under hardware recomended NOT to work for Unraid ...... We have nForce2, nForce3, and nForce4, ECS P4M800PRO-M V2.0 (indecently dgaschk has suggested ECS board as well, that also has the worst reviews on new egg), VIA P4M800 PRO and VIA VT8237R Plus, FIC K8-800T, ASUS M4A785-M, BIOSTAR A880GU3 NOT recommended. Most of the models I have listed are MSI ones, so I guess I should be safe ....... (will avoid Biostar) Can anyone just tell me if MSI A55M-P35 Motherboard will take AMD 3.2 GHz AM3 Athlon II 260 Processor. I am still waiting before I place the order .... Regards Sammy
  10. To Add I found this mother board for the same price that I listed in the previous page around 63 USD ..... MSI A55M-P35 Motherboard This one has 6 sata ports so my initial problem could be solve ..... BUT can any one tell me if this mother board will support the AMD 3.2 GHz AM3 Athlon II 260 Processor that I have listed in the previous page. If yes I might go for this as this one as 6 sata ports .....
  11. Well I guess there is no spk on the board as I could not find one. About PSU, I connected it on my other system and it worked perfectly, as the system booted correctly...................Anyhow I have decided to get new hardware ...... can you comment on the Proc+Mobo I have mentioned, or may be suggest one yourself ......
  12. I don't know about this particular motherboard, but in general, using price as the only factor when purchasing hardware that is going to be used as a server is probably not a good idea. Desktop grade hardware is cheaper than server grade for a reason, typically duty cycle and wide spread known compatibility. If I were you I would check the known good for unraid boards in this forum, and find the cheapest of those, not find the cheapest board and ask about compatibility. Sir, I cannot afford server grade hardware, with ECC RAM, Xeon Processor and Server Board. I have to choose between normal desktop component only. If the above hardware is not up to the mark, please suggest as per your recommendations ......
  13. OK this is the hardware I have decided, this is the cheapest NEW mobo+proc I can get ,.... kindly see and suggest if I should go for this ... Processor :: AMD 3.2 GHz AM3 Athlon II 260 Processor ............Around 66 USD Motherboard :: MSI 760GM-P21 (FX) or Biostar A960G+.........................................Around 48 USD A small problem with Mobo is that is has only 4 SATA II ports (both) and I have 5 HDD including parity. But I also have one HDD which has not been filled at all, i.e its empty inside the array. I can plug out that HDD and only use the rest 4 (including parity). Can this is done, is the hardware Okie, are Motherboard and processor compatible (which one to go MSI or Biostar).... ...... Please suggest If everything seems okie, I shall place the order then .... Regards Sammy
  14. Ok this I have not tried, but looking at the Heatsink, it does not appear to be anyway near as dislodged ...... its clamped rock solid ..... I would still give it a try, though personally I have made up my mind to get a new hardware .... just looking if I can managed to get any used deal on mobo+proc, else I would have no option to go for an i3 with compatible mobo n ram......
