  1. I also just realized that I haven't posted what my system specs etc are. I'm using a 45Drives AV15 with a supermicro X11SSH-CTF motherboard a Xeon CPU (1220 v5) and 16GB of memory. I am running a number of docker containers, however none of them are loaded at the moment since I haven't started the array. Plugins: CA, rclone, Unassigned Devices, User Scripts
  2. Some more info from the log window the webGUI of unRAID.
  3. So I regrettably decided to upgrade to 6.8.0 today. I should have known better it being a Friday the 13th lol. In any case I think I did something dumb. After the update downloaded and the server needed a reboot I went ahead and rebooted it via the web GUI, and a few min later (maybe 3-5) came back only to find that nothing had happened. I went an checked on the server in person and also it was still up and running. So I tried shutting down the server directly on the machine via the command line, but again no response, waited another 3-5 min and then tried pressing the power button. Again on response after a couple of mins so I figure since it just needs a reboot I'll just force shut it down and power it back on. Well my mistake because I have been having issues since then. It seems that there is a huge delay in getting unRaid loaded now, and I left the array starting and when I came back 2 hours later the array was still attempting to start. I have tried booting in safe mode, and into maintenance and that was successful, but still had the delay in being able to access the webGUI. My guess is that something with unraid is corrupt since it was working fine earlier today before I messed with it. Thanks in advance for your help. I should note, I currently have the Unraid webGui up however I haven't started the array seeing as that has been causing issues so far. So I should be able to collect any extra diag data you may need. Also when I try to pull up the logging window in the webGUI it takes quite some time for the information to populate. Although it does eventually. Attached are the daig zips for when I first caused the issue and the most recent one that I pulled directly from my flash drive and the most recent one I pulled from when the web gui was working. tower-diagnostics-20191213-1452 Falcowe.zip
  4. Hello all, So quick run down of the situation. I recently moved from Mac OS to Windows 10 as my main DAW machine. Before I could open and run projects from my 45drives AV15 NAS through the networked shares. But now on Windows the drive doesn't show up in the "Open 'file' [session]" Dialogue. Any idea why I'm not seeing it there? I am seeing the share in File explorer and its working just fine. I can play video files and read/write to the share in question without a problem. It seems just ProTools is having an issue. Thanks for your input! -Walter
  5. The issue seems to be with auto backup (I don't think Protools has an autosave feature). I will give your suggestion a try and let you all know what happens.
  6. Russ Uno, I checked it and R/W permissions for the folder in question are for all users. Although interestingly the mounted share (network drive) is only R/W for the "(unknown)" user. However I am trying to use the SMB shares since in my testing I was getting higher throughput on SMB and about half the throughput on AFP.
  7. Hello all, I wanted to update this thread now that I have it all working. Jon from unRAID support suggested that I use a PCIe USB card instead of the onboard USB ports, and pass through that to my VM. It worked like a charm (once I figured out how to passthrough the PCIe card to the VM, great post on that can be found here.
  8. I just wanted to update this thread. So it seems as if this is working pretty well. However there are a few problems left. 1. Protools isn't able to do its automated session backup process. So I'll get a warning messages saying I don't have sufficient privileges to write to the disk (or something close to that). Annoying but since I can save the project via [command] - s or the "File" menu its not a deal breaker. Just really annoying. 2. Sometime when I mount the "Production" share that all of my Protools data is on, I'll get a bunch of little red circles with white horizontal lines in them (indicating that I don't have sufficient privileges to access the folders). If I then disconnect from the server and relaunch Finder, this seems to fix the problem consistently. However I have tried just disconnecting and reconnecting and that will occasionally work. As will cycling the network connection. Again I have been able to work around this successfully, but any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  9. I have been trying to demo some software (Vienna Ensemble Pro 6) on a windows VM on my 45drives unRAID OS server. However there seems to be an issue with getting VEPro to recognize the eLicenser dongle that authorizes the software to run. The eLicenser control center recognizes the dongle (although only if it was plugged in before a boot of the VM), and the necessary license is there to run the software. So I was hoping I might find some ideas here, to try to get this all working. I should probably also mention that the eLicenser Control Center software will recognize the dongle however it will not preform a Maintenance run with the dongle plugged in and recognized (which is an online process that syncs the dongle with my online account to make sure all licenses are there etc.). Thanks for your help!
  10. Awesome thanks wgstarks! With some initial testing done it looks like this fixed my issues with the SMB share! I'll keep this tread updated over the next week or so if I run into any issues (or not)!
  11. Hmm... interesting. When I tried this all I got was an in accessible folder. I was completely denied permissions to even open a folder in OSX.
  12. Thanks for the suggestion wgstarks. I tried that with my SMB share and I was still getting the same issue. But with your idea in mind I tried the AFP export that unRAID supports and found that with both guest and user login there didn't seem to be any issues (at least in this initial testing that I have done). So I guess it seems to be something with the permissions of SMB and OSX talking to each other. Intrestingly I should also note that in further testing I found that only the mp3 (of a wav and mp3 bounce) and the PTX session file would get locked. I'd like to still get SMB shares working however with AFP functioning at least it will work for now.
  13. Hello all, First off I'm new to unsaid so sorry if my information is incomplete. I have recently been working on a ProTools 12 project off my 45drives unRAID server and I was getting errors every so often during the project saying that a backup of the project couldn't be saved because it was trying to copy some weird, long-named PT session file but PT or I didn't have permission to modify the file. Again when I went to save the session a similar error presented saying I didn't have permission to write or access the folder. And finally when I tried bouncing to the server (after restarting PT because I couldn't save the session to the server folder) PT would freeze either after the first bounce, or the second bounce I attempted. And when I went to delete the files from the server (since they were useless anyway) I found that I didn't have the permission to modify them (including deleting them). Any ideas why this may be happening? In other uses (i.e. streaming mkv files, Adobe Prelude logging, or even playback on PT) everything seems to be fine. TechSpecs: - unRAID 6.3.5 - Mac Pro 6,1 (Trashcan) - Mac OS 10.12.6 (Sierra) - Mounting SMB share to MacOS from unRAID - ProTools 12.8 (non-HD) I will attach some images of the exact errors I am getting as soon as I can, and any other info that is requested. Thanks in advance for your help!
