  1. Looks like these would be fairly easy to assemble a backplane with. At $6.99 a pop. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/7634/cab-120/Silverstone_CP05_Hot_Swappable_Sata_II_Cable.html
  2. Why is NIC important and if I buy a MB that the NIC is not supported is there any way around that? with a NIC card or something? Thanks for the reply.
  3. Will the above changes be suitable for a media sever with 20 x 2TB drives? Thanks for all the help guys.
  4. Thanks for the help and info. It is becoming challenging for me to find a MB with more than 4 SATA and 2 or more PCIe x4 or better is almost non existent... Well I will check around alittle more but I guess it looks as if I will have fit a new CPU and MB in the budget.

  6. Hello. I'm a complete noob when it comes to this raid business. I have 4 HTPC's in the house and the main one is out of room as far as SATA ports so I was looking into adding a server and unRaid seems the way for me to go. So I intend to add at least 1 maybe 2 more HTPC's to the network so I want a server able to serve my Blu-Ray streams to my HTPC's. I was wondering if Streaming to 5-6 HTPC's at the same time would be a issue and would I need to look at a Beast build or would a Budget Build do the job? And if I build a 20 Drive server could I add another 20 drive server later? Thanks for any help.
