Ok, deleted (made a copy), reinstalled and server booted up. What is it I have to put in here to access it from my PC? I put what it was before and it's not working. If this means anything, My PC has a ethernet cable to a switch and vice versa from the server, this is how it was before to connect the 2 machines together. However, my PC is connected to the internet via WiFi this time instead of a cable from the router to the switch then to the PC.

When this was up and running last time, this is how I was able to access the server from my PC by creating a new network connection and it was just like adding an external hard drive..... I wrote down the mapping route but its not working now.

On top of all of the above, now I cant get into this.... Yes, I wrote it down and no I didn't change anything..... same as it was from years ago.

Ok, done.... I downloaded it but how do I get it here? Please understand, before I could access the GUI from a browser (Google) but I can't do that now so there's no way for me to get the file from my server to my PC to post it here. As mentioned before, it was a miracle I got all this to work in the first place years ago.

How, I cannot connect to the server from my PC. This is the problem I am having, I cant connect to it to do anything.

I have some family video footage on the server I need get to, to make a montage with for an upcoming anniversary.

If this is not allowed I apologize but the person who helps me get this up and running today or tomorrow, this is probably not much but I will PayPal you $50 for the trouble.

When I first got this machine working I wrote everything down in case I forgot later on. This is not working and this is how I was able to add a network connection from my PC to the server.

This is what I have going on so far from the webGUI, I assume its working?.... this is the server connected to its own monitor. What I can't do is add a Network Connection to access the data from my desktop and everything is connected exactly as it was when it all was working fine a few years ago.

Hello again everyone, I really could use some help figuring out what is going on. Last year I made this post..... I live in Florida work up way north close to Canada for a large part of the year and last year I didn't have a chance to figure out the problem when I was home. I returned up north again but now I am home for the next 6 months and really need to get my machine up and running again. The same problem exists as described in the link above. I'm not super savvy with all this and it was a miracle I got it all to work in the first place, can I just reinstall the OS on the flash drive and start all over or will that cause a problem with all my data on the drives?

I really appreciate you taking the time Frank1940 👍 I've run a loooong Cat5 cable to the router at the other end of the house and wired everything back to how it was 2 years ago just to get things running. I'll figure out a more permanent cable solution later. Trying to map a Windows connection like I did before and now I'm getting these two errors. I don't understand why all this doesn't just work like it did, its now set up exactly how it was before being put into storage.

Yes, all cables are Cat5 The only wiring that has changed is from the router to the switch, there is none. My PC is connected via Wifi to the router. Then a Cat5 cable from the PC to the switch then a Cat5 cable from the switch to the server. So basically the two towers are only connected through the switch. In the photo the yellow is to my PC and the grey to the server. Before there was a third Cat5 cable from the router to the switch then out to each tower, this is the only change. Do I have to have it the way it was before everything was put in storage? We had a bad storm here and the neighborhood was hit by lightning which fried the cable lines to some homes in the area and unfortunately my house was one of them. They repaired the lines going to my house for free but to rewire the entire house would have cost additional so we just opted to have the one line repaired but the router is now on the other side of the house instead of my 'home office'. Our router was upgraded so instead of running a Cat5 cable though the house I just use WiFi to connect on my PC

Thank you Frank1940 and trurl! I was able to access the GUI from the server but still not from the web GUI. Another question if you don't mind.... Before I had my router connected to a switch then out to my PC and server. This time my PC is connected to the router (new one from my cable provider) via USB WiFi antenna then a cable from my PC and server to the same switch. Does the server case need to have a cable leading back to the router to gain access? I've tried multiple ways to set up a shortcut Network Connection from my PC but its not working. I even tried making a new connection the same way I had it before but getting connection error.

Thanks for the response and I was able to make some progress. Finally was able to access the Bios by unplugging everything and loading defaults. Now another 'speed dump'.... I've looked everywhere but cant find where I wrote the login info on. Is there any way to reset this?

Hi All, My knowledge is very limited and I was shocked I even got this thing to work but I will try and describe my issue as best as I can.... I built a home server 3 years ago and 2 years ago I had to relocate for a job which I would be returning home eventually. Before leaving, I put my PC and Server in storage here at home. All I did was shut it down, unplug all the cables and stored it in the box the case came in 2 years ago. I took pictures of how I had it all set up... everything. I am home now and had a chance to put it all back to the way it was. Everything is working as it was except my server. The photo attachment shows the error I am getting. I tested all the drives on an external dock and they are all working. I put the USB drive in the same slot on my server but I did check it on my PC, all the data is there. There's a light that flashes but not when its in the server and I tried all the other slots but same result, on my PC it lights up fine. I tried getting into the Bios to select the boot device but no matter what I do I cant access the Bios. I checked and rechecked all the cables but as mentioned earlier, all I did before leaving was shut it down and stored it in a box. Any help would be most appreciated.
