  1. @1812 I just installed 6.4 rc 17b and it sees all the cores, and my shares/vms/dockers are working (which is all i need). Thanks for the help! Edit: This also helped with passthrough of my cores to my vm, didnt really need it but good to give it some more power! @unevent I think it might have been just the GUI, but I didnt check number of threads it made.
  2. Uhhh, well I found something @Frank1940 posted that Lime-Tech suggested about removing all share sessions "net use * /delete" which might have done the trick. Tho it sais there were no shares in the list. Some times in technology you take waht you get and don't ask questions... lol.
  3. Heres the diag.sovereign-diagnostics-20171221-1344.zip Also Mprime pegged out half the cores. Its funny tho that i see your sig @1812 this is a HP Proliant ML350 G6. I might have to read your thread there.
  4. Things were going fine until I relocated my unRaid server. I can get in the web gui, Vm, Dockers, but not SMB shares. It will prompt me for login and whether i use valid login or cancel the navigation windows explorer crashes. I have cleared my windows credentials, and tried from a VM, dont have a laptop handy with a charger . I am using Windows 10 to access the server now, and also when I initially set it up. I have used Putty to move some data from an unassigned drive if that matters. Before relocating the server I was able to access shares etc. without any prompts and haven't changed any configs I can think of. Any ideas on next steps? Attaching diagnostic and system logs too. Thanks, sovereign-syslog-20171221-1344.zip sovereign-diagnostics-20171221-1344.zip
  5. I have 2 Xeon E5606 processors, but on my "Dashboard" tab I only see usage reported for (I think). screenshot So I'm wondering if they are all being used, and or if there is a way to make them all be used. I don't have any performance issues, but want to get the most out of what I got. I am still on the trial version right now if that matters.
  6. Alright, good to know. I will probably do the 2nd Parity for now since the drive is just sitting idle. I appreciate all the info, my parity sync is nearly complete, and plex is up and running transcoding etc. fine. I even made a Windows 10 VM for gigles. Happy UnRaidng
  7. LOL, oops, yea 1 GB drive is a bit small huh? Thanks for the info though. Due to unforeseen circumstances I fried my 3TB drive, but have 2 1 TB replacement, how do I set the 2nd 1TB as "hot spare" or something in case it's needed? 2nd Parity? When I get close to filling my array I will probably go to a larger parity and figure out other drives etc later. I have really slowed down my media expansion lately, but UnRaid seems perfect for my little experiment. Thanks again.
  8. A friend told me about his UnRaid setup and I wanted to test it out for my self. I have access to a variety of spare parts to use but wanted to see what people thought before I dove in. I plan to use my setup as a Plex server and for some network shares, and use components of an old tower server with dual quad core processors and 8 GB ram. From what I have read it seems that should be enough for my Plex needs (right?). My biggest concern is about hard drives. I have a 3 TB green 5400 rpm I plan to use for parity, 1 128 GB SSD for cache, 2x 1 GB 7200 rpm (I think lol) drives and 2x 500 GB 7200 rpm drives. Will my parity disk cause a bottle neck? And would it effect video/transcoding ( I'm guessing it will only effect write speed?) UnRaid seems perfect for the random bits and pieces I have to use. I will probably need to order a few things like a new power supply or faster parity, so I just wanted to see if this was decent setup before I start building and buying. I also plan on making some sort of custom case to transplant my components into. Thanks,
