  1. Hello, in the past often the Scythe Hard Disk Stabilizer x4 was suggested in combination with the Sharkoon Rebel Case. With this combination it is possible to have 4 3.5" HDDs within 3 5.25" slots. Sadly the Hard Disk Stabilizer x4 is a discontinued model. Are there any alternatives? http://www.scythe-eu.com/produkte/pc-zubehoer/hard-disk-stabilizer-x4.html
  2. I've got the same issue. Driver "f71882fg" is not installed. I would like to display the fan and cpu temp information. The sensor command says "No sensors found!" The sensors-detect command returns the following output. My board is a MSI H55M-ED55. Is it possible to add the driver to unRaid? perl: warning: Setting locale failed. perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings: LANGUAGE = (unset), LC_ALL = (unset), LC_COLLATE = "C", LANG = "en_US.UTF-8" are supported and installed on your system. perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C"). # sensors-detect revision 5818 (2010-01-18 17:22:07 +0100) # System: MSI MS-7635 # Board: MSI H55M-ED55 (MS-7635) This program will help you determine which kernel modules you need to load to use lm_sensors most effectively. It is generally safe and recommended to accept the default answers to all questions, unless you know what you're doing. Some south bridges, CPUs or memory controllers contain embedded sensors. Do you want to scan for them? This is totally safe. (YES/no): Silicon Integrated Systems SIS5595... No VIA VT82C686 Integrated Sensors... No VIA VT8231 Integrated Sensors... No AMD K8 thermal sensors... No AMD Family 10h thermal sensors... No AMD Family 11h thermal sensors... No Intel Core family thermal sensor... No Intel Atom thermal sensor... No Intel AMB FB-DIMM thermal sensor... No VIA C7 thermal sensor... No VIA Nano thermal sensor... No Some Super I/O chips contain embedded sensors. We have to write to standard I/O ports to probe them. This is usually safe. Do you want to scan for Super I/O sensors? (YES/no): Probing for Super-I/O at 0x2e/0x2f Trying family `National Semiconductor'... No Trying family `SMSC'... No Trying family `VIA/Winbond/Nuvoton/Fintek'... No Trying family `ITE'... Yes Found `Fintek F71889FG Super IO Sensors' Success! (address 0xa00, driver `f71882fg') Some systems (mainly servers) implement IPMI, a set of common interfaces through which system health data may be retrieved, amongst other things. We first try to get the information from SMBIOS. If we don't find it there, we have to read from arbitrary I/O ports to probe for such interfaces. This is normally safe. Do you want to scan for IPMI interfaces? (YES/no): Probing for `IPMI BMC KCS' at 0xca0... No Probing for `IPMI BMC SMIC' at 0xca8... No Some hardware monitoring chips are accessible through the ISA I/O ports. We have to write to arbitrary I/O ports to probe them. This is usually safe though. Yes, you do have ISA I/O ports even if you do not have any ISA slots! Do you want to scan the ISA I/O ports? (yes/NO): Lastly, we can probe the I2C/SMBus adapters for connected hardware monitoring devices. This is the most risky part, and while it works reasonably well on most systems, it has been reported to cause trouble on some systems. Do you want to probe the I2C/SMBus adapters now? (YES/no): Found unknown SMBus adapter 8086:3b30 at 0000:00:1f.3. Sorry, no supported PCI bus adapters found. Module i2c-dev loaded successfully. Next adapter: SMBus I801 adapter at 0400 (i2c-0) Do you want to scan it? (yes/NO/selectively): Now follows a summary of the probes I have just done. Just press ENTER to continue: Driver `f71882fg': * ISA bus, address 0xa00 Chip `Fintek F71889FG Super IO Sensors' (confidence: 9) Warning: the required module f71882fg is not currently installed on your system. If it is built into the kernel then it's OK. Otherwise, check http://www.lm-sensors.org/wiki/Devices for driver availability. No modules to load, skipping modules configuration. Unloading i2c-dev... OK
  3. Hello, i'am planning to install my first unRaid Server this weekend. Should i go with version 4.7 or the current beta of 5.0? Thanks a lot
  4. Ok, the order is submitted. I changed to RAM to a KIT and also ordered FANs, cables and 4in3 drive cage. Thanks a lot for your help! I can't await the next weekend, when i hopefully can test unRaid the first time
  5. So now i configured my order, what do you think -> submit?
  6. I tend to go with the MSI H55M-ED55 and i3 540. The CPU is about 97 EUR and mainboard around 73 EUR booth at amazon.de. This makes 170 EUR. What a pity, one can have a AMD Athlon X2 inkl. motherboard (GPU onboard) for under 100 EUR. Unfortunatly unRaid is mainly tested not on AMD (consumer) hardware.
  7. You are right, the cages are only eye catchers - really expensive ones. I think i will go without them as you suggested and invest the money in a better board and CPU. I havent got an idea for a mobo and CPU, can you suggest a combination with space for unRaid add-ons which is available in germany?
  8. Hello, i would like to build an unRaid server, starting with 5 drives (using motherboards SATA connectors and one 5 drive cage), by still having the possibility to upgrade up to 20 drives (using additional cages and SATA cards). The type of build should be a budget build. The main problem i have is, that the hardware suggested in the wiki and forum for the various predefined builds is not mainstream hardware in germany and therefore really expensive (especially mainboards). Here's the hardware i selected up to now (preferably buying from amazon.de) Case: SHARKOON Rebel 12 Value Black aprox. 82 EUR UPS: Corsair CMPSU-650TXV2EU aprox. 80 EUR Cage: ICY Dock SATA Backplane 5 in 3 aprox. 140 EUR Can you suggest a budget mainboard, CPU and RAM which is available in Germany und comptabile with unRaid? Many thanks in advance
