  1. I have 10 data drives/parity/cache array. I have noticed that although the drives are all WD and 6TB there have been two instances of different sector counts. Now with the failure of a data drive the spare is one with a smaller sector count and accordingly will not install (replacement drive too small). Do I have a work around or must a new drive be purchased. Thanks.
  2. Thanks for the directive. Finished with no errors. Mystery why swapping cable positions worked and the drive the questionable cable was connected to did not error out.
  3. Before bedtime server was over 10% and still going strong. This morning, it was at 57% and 1mb/sec and 31 days. Swapped cables with another drive and give it another try. Later, if not normal, will revise power cables. If not effective will re-install last drive and try again..
  4. Thanks, did the above already and am at 1% at 90+mb/sec. However, this was the same as before when the rebuild went to slow down at around 10%. Should be another hour and cross my fingers.

  6. Replaced disk on 6.7 server with several hiccups along the way and finally started re-synch. Noticed later that it had slowed with the following log items. Any thoughts. Replaced cable and disk went through 2 preclear tests at expected speed before the rebuild. rebuild.txt
  7. Yes. Unraid is not to blame.
  8. Neither Krusader or dolphin were involved. I deleted by mistake from a window machine by mistake. Am running sysdev recovery standard and pray for good results. Will not know until tomorrow. thanks
  9. Thanks, have downloaded two test files and will tomorrow pull one drive to start. If successful, it will take looooong time on 6x6t drives.
  10. Sorry that my post was not clear. I DELETED all my files by mistake when clearing the recycle bin files. My subsequent reading of xfs indicates that it is impossible to undelete in xfs. If this is true, what are my options???
  11. Sorry, our time zones are on the opposite sides of the world. The yellow marker on the flash was a warning of public security setting-changed. It appears that the OS is ok and it is an 71yr old operator problem. All the folders are deleted. The tools in unraid appear to not be able to help. Dasx86 post may be helpful. If this is the only way on XFS I will have to try to recover the files singularly on each drive. Should I be lucky, the procedure to reconstruct the array needs further planning. The parity is of no use and it could be used as the recovery disk and each drive recovered and reloaded to the original. Is it possible to start a new array with data present or start with two drives and continue loading the data and adding to the array.
  12. Thanks, the file was posted to the original but here it is by itself. tower1-diagnostics-20190102-1700(1).zip
  13. Happy New year to me. this day I noticed that there were no files and triple the data size array. Prior to New year I cleared the recycle bin and can only image that I may have cleared the drives. The system is intel 4670k with the 7 drives indicated. There were about 20,000 video files on the disks or about 26T. Have not done any writing or other actions. Where can I go from here?tower1-diagnostics-20190102-1700.zip
