  1. Hello, currently backing up 89TB from unRAID to Google Drive using rclone. Just got an email from Google saying we have 60 days to move it or pay $560 per month to increase the storage limit. Anyone have experience switching to sync.com for backup? Thanks!
  2. Does that patch allow use of larger TB drives with SAT2-MV8?
  3. Really appreciate your advice. Have you heard of one that works well for swapping into the Supermicro 24 bay machines?
  4. Thanks so much for your quick reply. Is it possible to switch to a different controller?
  5. Much appreciated...replaced flash drive...replaced registration key....UI working fine with array stopped, started array, hung up network about 20 minutes later. Attached syslog from flash drive syslog (1)
  6. thanks heres the syslog attached. the ui became unresponsive some time after the array was started. a hard reset was done about 12 hours later and the syslog was pulled after the reset syslog
  7. Another diagnostic after hard reset...system was hung up beast-diagnostics-20200303-1808.zip
  8. Here's an update: went through several cycles of leaving it alone for a few days, while it was stuck, GUI stopped responding, sometimes it would take down the whole LAN, unplug network cable LAN restored, hard reset Unraid server. After going through several cycles of this, the drive somehow appeared as Online and wrote 56GB of data. Now we have a new problem, whenever we start the array, it proceeds through to Array Started, but soon after the GUI becomes unresponsive. If left alone, it eventually leads to Unraid taking down the whole LAN, requiring us to unplug the network cable and hard reset Unraid. Attached is the diagnostic pulled before starting the Unraid, we will try to get the diagnostic while the GUI is hung up... beast-diagnostics-20200303-1630.zip
  9. Hello, I've tried to preclear and format the new drive but both get stuck and requires a hard reset. Any help is greatly appreciated. beast-diagnostics-20200226-1555.zip
  10. Hello, we have a bunch of folders copied over from MacOS to UnRaid SMB share. We would like to find the folders within unraid that contain the characters * and / * should be replaced with ~ / should be replaced with - What is the best way to do this? Thanks!!
  11. I agree. It would be nice to differential this as much as possible to help anyone else who might have a similar problem. Are you using MacOS High Sierra version 10.13.5? When I started, I thought files were getting lost in transit between cache and data drives. These are the things I had disabled one at a time as part of troubleshooting: 1. use cache - no 2. security - private to public 3. finally Enhanced OSX Interoperability: disabled Step 3 proved to be the fix for me, as Photoshop files were being sent to Recycling after every save even with steps 1 and 2. I have since reapplied steps 1 and 2 and with use cache - yes and security - private, I am still not losing any files to the recycling bin.
  12. I'm quite convinced that it's Enhanced OSX Interoperability: YES on the SMB share that is causing the problems. I have tried 3-4 files now and none have been deleted after saving. Before this change, every single file was deleted/recycle bin after every single save of Photoshop CC
  13. Are you using Enhanced OSX Interoperability: YES with an SMB share? Edit: strange - are you using High Sierra version 10.13.5?
  14. Found a possible solution. Turned OFF Enhanced Mac OS X Interoperability. So far so good...Photoshop file is no longer deleted after saving.
  15. The file goes to oblivion. We lost 4 edited files this way, which prompted us to install recycle bin Further observations: 1) the same tests were performed with TextEdit but no matter what I did to the file, it was never deleted. However, Copies of the .RTF file ended up in the recycle bin.... 2) I opened up Photoshop CC saved a New photoshop file on the Unraid SMB share and it was able to Save it for the first time initially. When I made a change to the file and saved again, the file once again was deleted (ended up in Recycle Bin) When I went to exit TextEdit, I got this error message. When I opened the file a second time, the filename was changed from Untitled.rtf to experimental folder.rtf. See second attached image.
