  1. Hello, I recently noticed some missing files on my unraid share unfortunately I don't have them backed up anywhere else except what I thought was on the parity drive which doesn't really count as a back up. The Parity said there are 0 error in the parity check the files are just not there. I have some old hard drives that where in the server before that might have some of the files I'm looking for on them. Is there anyway I can access them. I tried putting them in the server and unraid seems like It can only format them. Any other suggest would be greatly appreciated.
  2. New to unraid trying to add more internal sata ports to my unraid server. Tried everything I can think of including 3 different sata pci cards. including this one which is officially supported in the the unraid hardware document https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00952N2DQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BNCP3N2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FR7WP3H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 All of them seem to do the same thing when I put the card I can't access the server. On the start tech I changed the jumpers to the correct config so that its using internal sata not external. I can't even shut down the server properly when it has a card I have to hold the power button to shut it off. I must be doing something wrong I popped the card in and check all the settings in bios to make sure there arn't any settings that would effect weather the motherboard could see the card. In sata section it doesn't even see the card or the drives connected to it. Is there some installation process I'm missing? Do i need to insall windows on my server and install drivers of some sort maybe? My MOBO is Asrock AB350 Pro 4 don't have windows installed on it currently. Newest version of unraid. I know there is $100 sas card which is what unraid uses in their servers but I'm looking for a cheaper alternative if possible. Speed isn't really needed. Thanks apriciate any help.
  3. Hello, I'm completely new to unRAID and VMs in general but have read every guide and searched the forum. I have a windows 10 virtual machine installed and running on a PC. On my mac I access unRAID and start the VM. How do I get to the VM and windows install. Tried using a VNC cleint and server address but it says the computer rejects the PC rejects the connection. Tried HDMI and display port out to see if there was a signal and nothing. How do access the windows ISO through the server to install it? Thanks. Sorry if this is a stupid question.
  4. Ok got past the error. But now I can't figure out how to get to the windows 10 install tried display port and hdmi from motherboard. Just black screen. Tried to use a vnc from a mac and it says rejects connection. Thanks
