  1. Hey Guys, I've been trying and trying and trying....I can't seem to get secondary slot in my system to pass through to osx VM I have had windows work with my primary slot a RX480 but then that stopped working. Right now I'm more focused on getting OSX vm to work correctly and then i'll work back to windows. Here are some specs: **edit: also updated to latest bios this morning to see if that helped and no change MSI b350m Gaming Plus Ryzen 5 1600 16GB ddr4 2400 Radeon HD 6870 (to pass through to OSX) Now i've got the rom file I applied ACS to get proper grouping of IOMMU I've read online and watched spaceinvaders tutorials and I'm kind of at a loss. Maybe I'm not searching the correctly terms online so I am sorry if this is a solved issue and I promise I have been trying my arse off to get this working. Its a fun process but I am at a complete stand still now. Heres the VM log perhaps something I have simply misconfigured??? 2019-03-18 21:03:11.440+0000: starting up libvirt version: 4.7.0, qemu version: 3.0.0, kernel: 4.18.20-unRAID, hostname: Tower LC_ALL=C PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin HOME=/ QEMU_AUDIO_DRV=none /usr/local/sbin/qemu -name guest=Mojave,debug-threads=on -S -object secret,id=masterKey0,format=raw,file=/var/lib/libvirt/qemu/domain-2-Mojave/master-key.aes -machine pc-q35-3.0,accel=kvm,usb=off,dump-guest-core=off,mem-merge=off -cpu host -drive file=/usr/share/qemu/ovmf-x64/OVMF_CODE-pure-efi.fd,if=pflash,format=raw,unit=0,readonly=on -drive file=/etc/libvirt/qemu/nvram/27d4f736-40b9-ce86-a3af-c484bcb1e017_VARS-pure-efi.fd,if=pflash,format=raw,unit=1 -m 8192 -realtime mlock=off -smp 4,sockets=1,cores=4,threads=1 -uuid 27d4f736-40b9-ce86-a3af-c484bcb1e017 -display none -no-user-config -nodefaults -chardev socket,id=charmonitor,fd=26,server,nowait -mon chardev=charmonitor,id=monitor, mode=control -rtc base=utc, driftfix=slew -global kvm-pit.lost_tick_policy=delay -no-hpet -no-shutdown -boot strict=on -device pcie-root-port,port=0x10,chassis=1,id=pci.1,bus=pcie.0,multifunction=on,addr=0x2 -did=charchannel0,fd=31,server,nowait -device virtserialport,bus=virtio-serial0.0,nr=1,chardev=charchannel0,id=channel0,name=org.qemu.guest_agent.0 -device usb-tablet,id=input0,bus=usb.0,port=1 -device vfio-pci,host=1b:00.0,id=hostdev0,bus=pci.3,addr=0x0,romfile=/mnt/user/domains/Mojave/XFX.HD6870.2048.110927.rom -device vfio-pci,host=1b:00.1,id=hostdev1,bus=pci.4,addr=0x0 -device usb-host,hostbus=1,hostaddr=3,id=hostdev2,bus=usb.0,port=2 -usb -device usb-mouse,bus=usb-bus.0 -device usb-kbd,bus=usb-bus.0 -device 'isa-applesmc,osk=ourhardworkbythesewordsguardedpleasedontsteal(c)AppleComputerInc' -smbios type=2 -cpu Penryn,vendor=GenuineIntel,kvm=on,+invtsc,+avx,+avx2,+aes,+xsave,+xsaveopt,+ssse3,+sse4_2,+popcnt,vmware-cpuid-freq=on, -sandbox on,obsolete=deny, elevateprivileges=deny, spawn=deny, resourcecontrol=deny -msg timestamp=on 2019-03-18 21:03:11.440+0000: Domain id=2 is tainted: high-privileges 2019-03-18 21:03:11.440+0000: Domain id=2 is tainted: custom-argv . <---- This was highlighted RED as error 2019-03-18 21:03:11.440+0000: Domain id=2 is tainted: host-cpu 2019-03-18T21:03:11.488469Z qemu-system-x86_64: -chardev pty,id=charserial0: char device redirected to /dev/pts/0 (label charserial0) **edit IOMMU group 2:[1022:1452] 00:02.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. 2. ahh....well surprisingly my uptime is currently 11 hours 26 minutes. I'll have to dig into the bios update tonight when I have more time. I'm just reluctant as last time mflash fucked me good and hard lol. Thanks for the advice though I will for sure double check about the jumper switch as thats something I didn't even consider, a virus in there. Will report back. P.S. -----> AWESOME community, hopefully I can help others one day!
  3. ....Now I feel stupid, before pulling the trigger a few weeks ago I do recall reading about know ryzen bugs. Thank you, and friends "search is your friend" sorry for the time waisting and creating useless thread, I'll head over and double check zen states and perhaps update bios as a last resort.
  4. **Solved thanks for the help! It was the c-states bios setting. Hey Everyone, I'll try not to be too angry in my rant here (i've had a shit day, and this tipped me! ha) So recently installed unraid and have to say love it, been playing around with multiple OS vms and gpu passthrough etc ... Seems when i go to work Ive even set up a arch linux VNC distro just to connect and tinker with when I'm away from home (i'm sure the security vulnerabilities are awful, I used realvnc server) anywho, I can leave for work and within 7 hours or less and thats the longest I think thus far the system freezes. I'm fairly certain that the logs go when the system reboots and i'm constantly getting parity checks (I would assume from unclean reboots) I know its telling me about some bad sectors in my array but I wouldn't think that would cause system freezes? My system is : Ryzen 5 1600 MSI b350 Gaming Plus 2x8GB ddr4 2400 ballstix sport 1x1TB parity 2x1TB array 1x1TB unassigned (not figured out the best way to place my movies and TV show library on the array and add this disk to it) 1x XFX RX4804gb (passed to windows 10) 1x xfx Radeon HD 6870 (will be passed to linux + Mojave) 1x 128gb m.2 Cache drive I've found documentation on older versions of the unRAID os having some issues but I wouldn't think anything ive read from those would be causing this issue and I'm assuming its going to be something fairly simple. I'm wondering perhaps about updating my bios to the latest but I am reluctant as last time I did this I had to send it in to MSI (thankfully i'm in new west beside the richmond center and it only took 2 weeks) Thanks guys! Let me know if posting the logs or more specific system specs??
  5. Just an update! wow just insane this software....Love it, got it too do some playing around with my kids in virtual systems to do some tinkering and playing with arduino etc....incredible, even setting up multiple "workstations" one tower stuff. We LOVE it!! thanks to the team and everyone here whos helping and the help I got from this little thread!
  6. not sure why but the damn usb won't become bootable. I have 3 different sticks, all same brand and 16gb I'll try another one when I get home.
  7. that makes sense, I'll be selective on what needs to be saved haha
  8. Hey everyone, I'm about to embark on creating my first unraid setup to run perhaps a plex docker and a dual boot windows and linux (windows only for games and solid works mostly) and linux is my daily driver. My question (and I assume its stupid and suspect I know the answer already) is that when I set up the array, I have 4x 1TB drives and 1 m.2 SSD, my question is when I assign them all to an array and get it set up. Will the data be wiped from them all?? I'm fairly new to this but I assume when the array gets "built" it will wipe each drive and depending on the type of raid setup I use (maybe the m.2 as a cache drive) they all get wiped and set up witha parity or sorts. please forgive me for the horrible miss use of the terms or anything. I hope I didn't waist to much time not searching the forum I'm just running out the door and thought I would also say a Hello, I'm starting aha....
