I recently bought a second hand build, coming from an Intel 6700 build.
Motherboard: Gigabyte MZ32-AR0 (Rev. 1.0) - bios updated to R28_F04 (latest)
CPU: AMD EPYC 7551P
Memory: 8 x 16GB Samsung M393A2G40EB1-CRC0Q
GPU: MSI GT 1030 (using it for display only on PCIE_4 slot)
USB Boot Drive: SanDisk Cruzer Blade 8GB USB 2.0
BIOS Settings (mostly default except enabling IOMMU):
SVM Mode: Enabled
Legacy USB Support: Enabled
XHCI Hand-off: Enabled
USB Mass Storage Driver Support: Enabled
Port 60/40 Emulation: Enabled
IOMMU: Enabled
It keeps hanging at different stages of the usb boot sequence, I think it's memory related but I have isolated to different RAMs and speeds according to QVL Gigabyte.
I've also tried updating to the latest bios (F04), using double RAM pieces, using only one RAM at a time, loaning one working RAM (2666mhz) from a friend.
I have also purchased a brand new SanDisk USB 2.0, removed all storage (NVMe, 3x SATA HDDs).
Please advise on how can I resolve it, this is Day 3 of troubleshooting.
Storage (not that it matters at this point of time):
Cache Pool: 1 x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro
Array: 20TB HGST (Parity) / 12TB HGST + 8TB HGST
Thank you.
