  1. Thanks for this.

I did run the permission tool because Krusader wouldn't move or copy (or display) any files to my rclone directories.  I suppose that may be the issue, so how would I fix those permissions?

I have stopped and restarted the Docker manager in Settings, also as part of my troubleshooting.

    Thanks for jumping in.

  2. I'm running v6.12.10 and all was working fine yesterday.  I have been trying to set up rclone and did add the rclone docker but couldn't get it to work.  I shut down the server overnight.

Today, I cannot start most of my docker containers, the only ones I can start are cadvisor and sonarr.  Everything else fails and comes up with the error: Execution error. Bad parameter.

I attach the system log which showssome of the failures but I can't read it well enough to deduce what error has crept in.

    Can anybody help?

    Many thanks

Indeed - it is because by default Unraid formats disk with Reflink enabled.

I see no point in using this feature since it will consume around 0.7% of the available disk space.

    Thank you

This feature seems to be of help with speeding up copying and duplication of data.  I have no idea how useful this would be to me in the real world but I wonder why UnRaid would incorporate it if it wasn't of much use.  Would anyone from the moderation or Limetech staff like to jump in here?

Nevertheless, I appreciate your thoughts, @neohidra  It's always good to learn new things!

Yes it is the uuid, im sure. But the same uuid cant already be defined on unraid.

So you could not just copy the vdisk and use if for a few vms on the same server.

Would work though if you had one on one server and another on another. But that would be naughty and microsoft would hate you lol !!!

How about if you copied and renamed the activated uuid to a non activated uuid name?  I'm not sure what data the uuid contains but I'm sure Ed (and others) will know.

  5. I think I solved it and post it here for others.

The order displayed is defined by the order of the folders in config/plugins/user.scripts/scripts

It appears you can rename these without having to alter the name of the script in User Scripts.  At least that seems to work for me.

    I hope that helps

  6. I have been preclearing some of my disks prior to adding them to my server. Some are clearly suspect but I have this one 2Tb disk and I would like to know more.  Is anyone able to look at these two reports and tell me if this disk is useable for anything?  I was thinking I could use it as a cache write disk and set up separate cache pools for appdata, domains etc.  Do you think it might be worth a shot?

    Thanks all

  7. Thank you so much, Jorge.

I will try as you suggest.  This morning (UK) I did discover a cache backup I made in 2020 and nothing of huge importance has changed since then, so, if all else fails the appdata directory from that might be a good starting point?

Once again, I really appreciate the help you have offered

  8. So, don't shout at me.  You can't be harder on me than I have been!

I have (had) a pool of 4 cache drives on BTRFS.  For some unfathomable reason I reformatted the first one (because it came up on unassigned drives with a different label).  Now the entire cache pool is coming up as "Unmountable: no file system".  I have removed the reformatted disk and restarted the array hoping the remaining three will rebalance.  The rebalance button is greyed out and says it is only available when the array has started, which it has.  In addition, every so often the array stop button goes greyed out and the message changes to "unavailable: --btrfs operation is running". (see screenshots).  Is anything actually happening?

My question, basically, is "Am i fu*ked"?  Is there any prospect of recovering the data on this cache pool?  I do know it didn't contain any actual server "media data" but, of course, it does contain all appdata, VMs etc so all dockers and VMs are disabled.

Can anyone advise my best next steps before I go nuclear and reformat the entire cache pool and try to re build it from scratch?

    Many thanks

  9. And finally, just to confirm:  When I copy the files off the disk to be reformatted, may I copy them to disks of smaller sizes?  I suspect yes but in that case, does it enhance the case for data verification?  Equally, might it be simpler to replace the drive with a new one, formatted to XFS, and write the files onto it from the old Reiserfs disk which can then be formatted and added to the array or otherwise disposed of?

I ask because I have a bunch of 1Tb disks but the two disks I need to convert to XFS are both 2Tb disks.  I'm wondering what would be the slickest, most efficient method of getting the job done?

  10. Many thanks Larry

This was, indeed the solution.  There were a few issues.  One being that I was on OS v6.9.2 and the UNRAID upgrade page said I should be able to access the server GUI which, of course, I could not.  However, I was able to access the Flash directory via MAC's Finder and rename the .pem files, which gave me access.  Secondly, there is no "Upgrade Cert" button in OS v6.11.5 which I was upgraded to. but I was able to do the same thing using the blue 'help screens' on the Settings page.

    All is now working perfectly.

Thanks for your prompt help.  I was pulling my hair out yesterday!

  11. I think I have the same problem.  The server works, in that I can access the docker apps that are running, like Krusader, Plex, Radarr, Sonarr etc but I cannot access the server itself in a GUI form.

Any ideas, guys?  Could it be related to the decision last April to remove the requirement to register the server with Unraid?

    Cheers

  12. HELP!

I've had my server disconnected for some months whilst I did some house remodelling.  The server has not been moved but was shutdown and physically disconnected.  It was working perfectly at the point of last shutdown.  Now when I come to boot it up again something very strange has happened.

The server will boot to the command line, no problem.  It will not boot to OS + GUI, or at least the screen goes blank and no GUI is present.  At the same time, I am unable to access the server GUI via the LAN.  However, I can access the dockers which are running, like Krusader, Emby, Sonarr and Radarr.  I can, also, access the server via Terminal on my Mac.  Further, I can access and the IPMI pages of the Supermicro shell on a different local IP address.

There is some connection going on because if I type in the server address of 192.168.1.14 on my laptop or phone, the page redirects to https://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.unraid.net/Main (where xxx are 40 numbers & characters) and I get the error screen: This site can't be reached.  This happens only when the server has powered up.

I am sure the solution is simple but I am flummoxed, particularly as I can only access the server files via command line and that is not my skillset.

Can any kind soul shed light on the problem?
