  1. Been chasing down errors which, after posting here a few times, are likely power related. Just replaced my SATA power cables but I'm still receiving errors. I think my plan is to continue replacing cables (I can replace my data cables) until something works. But I'm attaching my diags in case anything odd pops up that might exclude power/cabling being the issue. tower-diagnostics-20220825-1353.zip
  2. It is not, but thank you for that heads up. I have another system (not a server) that is semi-modular. I'll remember that. I have some SATA expansion cables I took apart to remove the 3.3v wire from using this guide: https://forums.serverbuilds.net/t/guide-3-3v-sata-power-cable-mod-3-3v-wire-removal/9806 There's a chance I messed something up--though all I did was remove a wire--so I'll try another cable if I have additional problems. Think I'd just need to put tape on the 3.3v pin for some of my shucked drives.
  3. I found a possibly loose molex to SATA connection that hopefully fixed my issue. If I find other issues in the future, I'll start replacing power cables. Thanks for looking!
  4. Chasing down what I believe is a cable issue. System runs "fine" (air quotes as it must not be running fine) for awhile and then on a parity check will throw some errors. Diags are attached and any help would be appreciated. tower-diagnostics-20220806-1056.zip Current errors are one disabled drive and one drive that shows as unmountable.
  5. I installed a couple drives. One of them had an error on the first parity check. I think there must be a cable issue. I didn't want to start a new topic becasue this seems like the same problem and I should just replace cables. I attached my diagnostics. Could you take a look when you have a chance? tower-diagnostics-20220602-2024.zip
  6. Thanks, I did the above. Attached are new diags. tower-diagnostics-20220410-0829.zip
  7. All, Received errors on Disk 3 after a parity check this month. I've attached diagnostics. Could someone take a look? I think I should check filesystem on Disk 3 but wanted to wait. Thanks tower-diagnostics-20220404-1129.zip

  9. Both docker and plugin: no intelligent response to this, unfortunately. I set up OpenVPN using Spaceinvader's tutorial awhile back (and probably did something incorrectly) but it worked until a recent OpenVPN update and I hadn't moved over to WireGuard yet. I'll make that move this weekend. System share w/ files on the array: I'll fix that, thank you
  10. 100% right. Just configured those so I'll be alerted. Thank you for the reminder!
  11. Thanks, I'll do that. Now that I'm looking at my devices, my disk 3 is disabled. I hadn't noticed that before.
  12. All, Periodically (though more in the last week, it seems), my user shares disappear. I then have to restart and have Plex re-scan to import my media. I have no clue why it's happening. I've attached my diagnostics. Any help would be appreciated! Plugins: Fix Common Problems, My Servers, CA Backup/Restore, CA Mover Tuning, Community Apps, Dynamix SSD Trim, unBALANCE, OpenVPN Docker: SABNZBD, Homebridge (stopped), nzbhydra, plex, radarr, sonarr, openvpn, minecraft (stopped), tautilli. If I should add more info, please let me know. Thanks tower-diagnostics-20220303-0720.zip
  13. That's all I needed to hear. Thanks!
  14. Thank you. Could you tell if that was Disk0 or Disk1?
  15. I had a parity error in a previous post. I believed it to be a cabling issue on Drive 1 based on a helpful member's feedback, so I swapped Drive 1's SATA cable. I couldn't easily swap the power cable, so I moved Drive 1 to an unused slot with a different power and SATA cable. Ran parity check, wrote to parity, everything chugged along for a month. This morning, I wake up to parity errors. I probably need to order more cables, I guess. But I've replaced them all once. tower-diagnostics-20210324-0825.zip
  16. I replaced the SATA cable. I believe the same issue persists. I skimmed the logs and saw the same ATA bus error. I will try one more cable and then I will try power. tower-diagnostics-20210309-0842.zip
  17. Got it--thank you. I'll replace the power connection and see how it goes, then replace the connection later if there are still issues. Thanks again.
  18. Must've been some hang up in the GUI? I restarted and everything is green, no errors. This was the parity result: "Last check completed on Thu 04 Feb 2021 07:23:20 AM CST (yesterday), finding 0 errors. Duration: 18 hours, 2 minutes, 20 seconds. Average speed: 123.2 MB/sec"
  19. Parity drive had 500-2000 errors (can't remember) after a check. Started parity rebuild/resync and now the array is offline and I can't restart it. Diagnostics attached. Unraid Version 6.8.3. Docker apps: SABNzbd, Sonarr, Radarr, Tautulli, Nextcloud, MariaDB, Plex Inventec mobo w/ majority WD 8tb HDDs E31260L CPU Any help is appreciated. Thanks! tower-diagnostics-20210204-1503.zip
  20. Diagnotistics attached. Last week, two drives were unmountable. I replaced power cables and switched around data cables. Then I ran xfs_repair. Everything ran smoothly, then after parity I had errors on drive 3. Contents became emulated. I rebooted then removed that drive and re-added. Now it's emulated and parity and two other HDDs have errors. This has been an issue two previous times as well. I'm pulling my hair out and think I may need to replace my mobo--perhaps it's a controller issue. Running an Inventec Server System Motherboard LGA 1155 T2380103-Rev A12 C202 chipset. 4 WD 8tbs and a couple HGST 4tb HDDs. Any thoughts? tower-diagnostics-20201014-1648.zip
  21. Seems to have fixed the issue. Parity disk is disabled, but the other disks are working correctly. Running a parity check now. I'll have to replace the cable at a future date. Thank you for the help.
  22. Thanks. Just dawned on me that because I removed two smaller disks that didn't have errors, I can plug those cable/powers into the disks showing errors and see what happens.
  23. I previously had this issue after performing a parity check. I received help in this thread, and my problem seemed to be solved. After another week, I received more errors from two drives. I didn't take the right approach, but decided to just re-do my Unraid build because I was going to pull some drives and my data wasn't important. I removed two drives and restarted with a fresh USB build. After mounting today, the same two HDDs are throwing errors. I re-seated my cables prior to this build, but I'm not sure if that's the issue or not. Initially, when I first started my array, my build was stuck on mounting. I saved my diagnostics folder. It is prepended with "first." I rebooted and now I'm to the "starting services" phase, but my HDDs now show errors. I'm attaching the new diagnostics folder prepended with "second." Any help at this point would be appreciated. I can't tell if it's a cable issue or if two of my 8TB shucked WDs died at the same time. first tower-diagnostics-20200805-1156.zip second tower-diagnostics-20200805-1317.zip
  24. Thanks, everyone. After re-build, no errors and everything is back to normal. I really appreciate the help!
