  13. okay i tryed google and cant find any information maybe im missing somthing Im trying to run a smart report from unmenu so ill go into unmenu then click on disk management. Ill pick the drive i want to do my test on in this case im trying a short smart test on disk 2 . So ill pick disk 2 and this is what i see Smart Short Test of /dev/sdb will take from several minutes to an hour or more. smartctl -t short -d ata /dev/sdb 2>&1 smartctl version 5.38 [i486-slackware-linux-gnu] Copyright © 2002-8 Bruce Allen Home page is http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/ === START OF OFFLINE IMMEDIATE AND SELF-TEST SECTION === Sending command: "Execute SMART Short self-test routine immediately in off-line mode". Drive command "Execute SMART Short self-test routine immediately in off-line mode" successful. Testing has begun. Please wait 2 minutes for test to complete. Test will complete after Tue Feb 21 23:27:57 2012 Use smartctl -X to abort test. okay looks good so far , ill wait 2 or 10 minutes then ill click on mymain to see the smart report. Ill click on sm under info for disk 2 . It will show me the smart report for that disk , now for the questions 1. is their anyway to know when the test is done? (time and date) In disk managment ill click reload page and nothing changes. 2. I can't seem to find where it says the last time the test was ran for that disk anyway of doing this with unmenu? (again time and date last test ran. 3. If running a long test which takes some time is their anyway to get the status of the test with unmenu? The only thing i see to tell somewhat of the status is this here and it doesnt tell you any dates or times . SMART Self-test log structure revision number 1 Num Test_Description Status Remaining LifeTime(hours) LBA_of_first_error # 1 Short offline Completed without error 00% 155 - # 2 Short offline Completed without error 00% 155 - # 3 Short offline Completed without error 00% 155 - # 4 Short offline Completed without error 00% 29 - 4. when i click on smart history this here comes up Sorry: cannot run smarthistory. The /boot/smarthistory directory does not exist. Im guessing i have to download a file and put it on my flash drive? Also can i run this with unraid 4.7? because i read somewhere it was only for 5.0 beta is that right ?

  15. I was having this same problem I could type my IP in my android tablet , Android phone , iPod and every time get the web management . However on all my windows PC's I got nothing so got me thinking and it was my bit defender security software once I uninstalled that it work fine. I messed around with the settings in my security software .I turn everything off firewall, antivirus, ect and its installed I can't get the web management . Once uninstalled the software I can access it.
  16. Thanks for the reply, I have a super micro x8sil-f board and i went to super micro's website to found the current bios update and my board already has it . Says the current bios is 1.1 and when i went into the bios on my system says im at V 1.1 so i'm good their. I think it was a addon or script i installed. Because i remember looking at the syslog when i first setup the server and didn't see the minor issuse then. However my server is running fine so i prob shouldnt worry about it to much . I just don't want a crash any time soon so that's why i thought i would ask. I understand how the syslog works and what the colors mean. However when it shows numbers and letters it gets confusing to what its trying to say. Thanks for the help Ryan.
  17. Okay if I was to post my whole syslog would that help? Know one has any idea on this?
  18. Hello everyone just got my unraid server up and running about 2 weeks ago everything looks really good i have all green balls , however when i look in the syslog i see 3 minor issues , I have nothing in red so that is good. Is this something to worry about and does anyone know what this means? syslog reports (unmenu) Feb 6 23:32:50 Media kernel: ACPI Warning for \_SB_._OSC: Return type mismatch - found Integer, expected Buffer (20090903/nspredef-1006) (Minor Issues) Feb 6 23:32:50 Media kernel: ACPI Warning: Incorrect checksum in table [OEMB] - A0, should be 9D (20090903/tbutils-314) (Minor Issues) Feb 6 23:32:52 Media emhttp: shcmd (13): killall -HUP smbd (Minor Issues) Thanks for the help Ryan...

  20. Only when the DNS server on the router got set to one that attempted to re-direct all unknown hosts to the ISP's web-search-page. Typically, when you reset the unRAID security, you'll need to reboot the windows PCs AND the router, as they keep remembering the old settings. Do you think I should remove the password then set a new password and restart the router and computer ?
  21. I think their has been some confusion, I haven't even got to drive yet , I was wondering what to do when I do get it? The drive is a Western Digital Caviar Green 2 TB WD20EARX, do you think the drive will come with a jumper already on it from the factory? And if it does not should I just preclear the drive then format it 4k? Or if the drives comes with a jumper should I remove it? Thanks for the help Ryan
