  1. @itimpithanks for your quick follow-up, I'll do that and then copy over 'config' folder to the USB drive, didn't think it could be that easy. I'll mark it solved by your reply when it's back up, will be later today that I can try that.
  2. Hello everyone! I had to come to the realisation, after my unraid not being reachable that I: Didn't have back-ups of my USB Stick My USB stick, a Sandisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 16GB has gone into hardware read-only Which means from what I've read is it's hardware end of life. Now I've been able to make a ".img" with dd, and zip'ed all its contents into a ".zip" file as back-ups. But since I'm on Linux (Xubuntu), can I 'just' use the Manual install method to create a new USB stick with either the dd image, or the zip'ed contents? The new USB is a Verbatim Store 'n' Go PinStripe 2.0 32GB, since I'm not sure what the rights steps are. Nor the right order of steps, and I don't want to lose the set-up I had, I'm reaching out here. If going for "Manual install method", would I skip steps 4 & 5 , and replace "newly downloaded ZIP" with the zip file I created from the read-only usb in step 6? Thanks in advance for any guidance and/or help, that's much appreciated. And obviously I've learned my lesson and will keep a regular back-up when it's back up and running 😓
  3. Happend to me just now, so chiming in on letting know it's happening. Will check if the auto-reboot will work out. I have a Dell R730, so letting it restart will create some noise due to the fans 😅
  4. Thanks trurl, poweringdown, and re-connecting the drive solved the problem. My shares are back!
  5. Thanks, I'll check asap. How do you see this? So I know what to look for myself
  6. Thanks for you're quick reply trurl, I've attached the diagnostics, the sdg drive is the 2Tb unassigned drive that I'm copying my data to just for the sake of it, to be able to manually restore/merge files when needed. unraid-diagnostics-20200331-1612.zip
  7. Hello all!.. First of all, the cause of this issue is between chair and screen, now hopefully you guys are still able to help me work things out. I've just started using my Unraid 6.8.3 server since beginning of this year and gathered some personal stuff, luckily the pictures or located somewhere else. I manually deleted the data on my cache drivers from the '/mnt/cache' folder as I tought that would be a good choice since the mover didn't free up much. Looking back, that wasn't a good choice at all, I'm well aware and can't think why I considered that a good choice when overthinking it. With doing that I seem to have broken Unraid, this is because since doing that I've lost all my shares, so there was most likely a config placed there too. So, I want to rebuild my shares, can I just re-create them? And recover as much data as possible, if possible at all, that wasn't on the cache drives. How would I start doing so? I have a 2Tb drive that I can add as unassigned drive to make that a temporary storage place, as I have less 2Tb used. That I could just cp all the data from disk1 and disk2 too and then just re install Unraid for a clean start?
  8. The thing I like the most of Unraid is that in start from a USB drive and then just runs in RAM! That's efficient usage of power and storage as its bot using a harddrive for simply a OS. And about things i'd like to see in 2020, im not yet fully in to usage, did a trial run and now awaiting my Dell R730 to arrive to start my Unraid adventure to the fullest extend!
