  1. So I've been having an issue with my server hardlocking every few days (nothing via SSH, GUI, web, etc) for over a year now.

I've tried setting up syslog to flash, but this never seems to actually write anything.

Due to work, some personal health issues and a new baby in the house, I've neglected sorting out a dedicated syslog server until now, but finally have a capture (attached).

Work I've done in the last year to try to suss out the issue:

    • Swapped from an x399 Threadripper platform to x299 Intel
    • Doubled RAM from 16 to 32 GB
    • Pulled Plex and it's GTX 1660 out of the server into it's own dedicated hardware (now back in since the crashing continued)
    • Kept up to date with unRaid builds, now on 6.10.0-rc2

    Currently running Dockers:

    • CrashPlanPRO
    • lidarr
    • MongoDB
    • NginxProxyManager
    • OpenSpeedTest-Server
    • petio
    • Plex-Media-Server
    • radarr
    • sabnzbd
    • sonarr
    • tautulli
    • unifi-controller

    Any help would greatly appreciated.

But, how do I do that in Unraid with Plex in docker? Is there an easy way?

Edit: I'm using this docker (are there any differences on the dockers, anyone I should use instead?). https://hub.docker.com/r/linuxserver/plex/ and when when changing from "latest" to "1.22.0.4163" in VERSION on the "edit docker page" in Unraid and press Apply, I'm still on Version 1.22.2.4282 in app.plex.tv when I'm checking from a browser.

Edit2: Is it version-1.22.0.4163-d8c4875dd I shall write instead? Or do I need to specify more?

Edit3: 1.22.0.4163-d8c4875dd was the exact line. Now I'm down do the working version.

When Plex has fixed the problem, what is the best version to be on then? docker, latest or public?

    You're an absolute legend. Thanks!

  3. Another kernel panic overnight, screenshot attached. (have had a few over November, but have been so busy with a baby coming that I just didn't have time to get a screengrab and make a post)

I was certain I had enabled local syslog server, but it was disabled when I checked now. I have enabled it for when the next kp will undoubtedly happen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  4. For the past few months, i've been getting system freezes every few weeks.

After some inability to get a signal on the attached monitor when freezing, I was able to get a view of some of the error messages, which led me to believe that it was likely RAM related. Mind, the RAM I had in there at the time was 6 years old from an old X99 system originally.

I replaced this with some 4x 8GB sticks of Corsair 3600 DDR4, and the issue appeared to go away as I didn't have an issue for over 3 weeks, which was longer than usual.

Now tonight, frozen again, but this time the messages on screen were cryptic enough that I haven't the foggiest whats going on. Screenshots of the last messages attached.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Specs:

    Threadripper 2950X

    X399 Aorus Pro

    32GB DDR4 3600

    850W Corsair PSU

Any other details that would help, I'm happy to provide.
