  1. So I've been doing research for a few weeks to try and put together a build for me to use UnRAID on. One thing I have been consistently stuck on however is what CPU I should use for the system. Here is what I want to use the system for: 1. Have it set up as a NAS device that I am able to access remotely. 2. Run Windows VMs for me to use for work, that can be accessed remotely 3. Be a Plex Media server that can be used by multiple users simultaneously, and as above, can be accessed remotely 4. Be able to do all of the above at the same time. Now to start with, I've seen some reports that Ryzen CPUs are...unstable with UnRAID. Is this just old information I am seeing or is there some pc wizardy I need to work in to my UnRAID setup in order to get it to function right going with an AMD CPU? In the same vain, I've heard conflicting reports on whether I do or don't need an Intel CPU if I want to be doing any sort of transcoding for things such as Plex. Some things I've read just straight up say you can't do transcoding without an Intel CPU, other things have said it's fine as long as you have a GPU accompany your CPU so it can do the transcoding. Can anyone provide a little bit of clarity on this for me? Are there other things I should know about differences between AMD and Intel CPUs that would majorly impact the plans for my build?
