Share system set to not use the cache, but files / folders exist on the cache drive

Featured Replies

I just started my setup and installed the "Fix common problems" plugin.

It found this error:

Quote

Share system set to not use the cache, but files / folders exist on the cache drive

I've checked the cache drive and indeed there is a system folder on it.

It contains 2 folders docker & libvirt.

In the docker is a file docker.img

In the libvirt is a file libvirt.img

What should I do?

The array is still syncing parity.

Is this normal?

Thx for the help!

You want those to stay on cache so your dockers and VMs won't keep array spun up and so their performance won't be impacted by slower parity. The usual setting for appdata, domains, and system shares is cache-prefer for these reasons. You want all three of those shares to stay on cache.

Hi but why is it default on NO and still those files live on the cache drive?

Mover ignores cache-only and cache-no shares so they won't be moved, and as I said, you don't want to move them anyway. That share should be set to cache-prefer (or cache-only if it is all already on cache).

Go to Tools - Diagnostics and attach the complete Diagnostics ZIP file to your NEXT post in this thread and I can give more detailed advice.
