Unicode characters

Featured Replies

Hi guys.  I've been reading for a few weeks and just finished my first build.  I'm currently waiting for my first 2tb to copy across my network so I can move that disk into the array.

at 20mb sec im now 8hr down with 16 to go :(  It has just occurred to me that it would have been faster to have made the first transfer with no parity disc assigned...   Then I read up about installing the ntfs disk directly into the server for the transfer.

I've been reading about problems with Unicode characters in file names, but these posts and wiki entries seem to be from around 2008.  Can anybody help with detailed instructions on how this can be done using different tools that handle Unicode characters?  This is my first time using linux so please be gentle!  I've used msdos years ago so know what a command line is, just no experience with linux.

Thanks
