I'm running a windows 10 pro VM installed on an NVMe driver (Gen 4) write/read speeds are mostly good (slow random read/write by a factor of 10x from bare metal booting).

 

The VM is sluggish when first booted

 

Sluggish: 

- Mouse lags

- Explorer crashes and restarts

- Slow keyboard input

- Start menu opens but isn't populated

 

When i open process explorer i see 10-20% system interrupt, then after I let it "warm up" it seems to operate decently enough...

 

What could this be and how can I fix it?

Issue appears to be WSL2 installed on the windows 10 machine
