June 1, 200620 yr Ok I inserted 2 new 500gb drives yesterday morning (approx 9:00 am MST)...as of now (1:23pm MST) it only 30% done! It should not take that long to clear two drives....at this rate it will be done in about 3-4 days!! That cannot be the correct speed. Please, can someone help? DTT
June 1, 200620 yr It definitely does not right to me. IIRC, Typically that would take about an hour for a single drive of that size. I wonder if it's that slow because >1 drive is being added at once (I only did one at a time in my case). Unraid has been know to have less than stellar performance when doing multiple things at a time (hint, hint, Tom ;-)
June 1, 200620 yr I have had something similar happen to me a couple times. What I found was that when Linux booted the first time I added the drive, it booted in PIO mode, not UDMA. A reboot fixed the problem. It appears to only happen on the first boot after physically installing the drive. For me a reboot always fixed it. Don't know if you are having the same issues.
