SYSLOG File has this message - Whats going on???

Featured Replies

My syslog file in /var/log/syslog has the following error message:

Mar 14 11:21:39 urus kernel: vfio-pci 0000:0c:00.0: BAR 1: can't reserve [mem 0xb0000000-0xbfffffff 64bit pref]

It repeats this error so many times that upon restart and/or boot up i get a warning notification that something is wrong with my server and the 'log' scale in the Dashboard/memory is red @ 100%.

Oh, and the size of the syslog file is 126MB with the repetion of that one line above

0c:00:0 is my Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti which i have binded to vfio via the tools/system devices page as I have to use it for the VMs.

Im struggling to get the VMs to work properly at the moment.

I had a Win10 vm working with the card just this morning.

I added an Arch VM, with VNC and that worked too.

I tried to add the 1050 to the arch VM and it was a no go.

Yes i made sure the WIN 10 vm was stopped first.

Went back to VNC on the arch vm and got that "Guest has not initialized the display yet"

The 1050 is in slot 2 in my mobo.

My 5700xt is in slot one and selected as initial display in mobo bios too.

5700 is NOT bound in vfio.

Including the Diagnostic here and the output from the /var/log/syslog file here.

Id be very grateful for any help.

thanks
