February 22, 201115 yr I just got my shipment of 4 of these cables. I really wanted to buy form Newegg but @ $12.00 each and $6.49 shipping I decided to look elsewhere: http://cgi.ebay.com/Mini-SAS-36-Pin-Mini-SAS-36-Pin-Cable-w-Nylon-Tube-/170423774663?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27ae0c6dc7 I wanted a cable that specifically said "Multilane" in teh description since I wasn't sure if that is the case with all mini-sas cables. Anyway, cables are very well constructed, about 20" long and shipping is very reasonable ($1.45 expedited and multi product discounts apply). Just thought I would pass this along. John
February 22, 201115 yr What are you using this for, if i may ask. I know about the sas breakout cable to SataII. But what are you using this for? Good looking deal.
February 22, 201115 yr This cable is used when you have a card such as the AOC-SASLP-MV8 and have a backplane that has the same connection. The backplane is what the SATA drives plug into, so there is no need for a breakout cable. The Norco Cases are a prime example of this.

Ohhh...and the 4 SATA ports in the MB...I use a reverse breakout cable. John
February 23, 201115 yr Author Followup... I installed 4 of these last night. I then copied 4TB of data across 9 drives as a test. No errors. Cables performed as expected. John
February 23, 201115 yr Heck, my end goal is to get a Norco one day, so at this price, I just bought 2 Thanks for posting!
