February 23, 201115 yr I declare the door to 880 based motherboards (using the 880 chipsets) has been officially opened! Let the mayhem commence. With many of the older chipset motherboards showing up out of stock and with the cost of some really fine 880 based boards getting cheap enough for even budget builds it time to check these boards out.
February 23, 201115 yr Agreed queeg. Here is the Newegg comparison of 2 boards that are similar to the Level 1 Certified MSI -43 board. Newegg Comparison I believe a MSI 880G or Biostar 880 will be my 2nd unRAID project. (original build with ASUS) Other Boards 3GB/s (6 on board ports) 6GB/s (6 on-board slots) Note: These are not final recommendations. Verification of compatibility with unRAID4.7 has not been completed. If possible check the wiki or forums for other user's feedback. ie (Atheros LAN/Asus "LE" MB problems)

Check the link back and you will see I did the test on both 4.7 and 5.0 beta 4. I had wanted to try the MSI 880GMA-E43 because of it's dual PCIe x4 slots but the deal on the other MSI board was so good I couldn't pass it up. However I did check the lan on the -45 and it's a Realtek 8111DL (like the other 2) and is long supported in unRAID.
February 23, 201115 yr I just wanted to post a note about the other boards hyperlinked in my post. Thanks for the certification!
