February 24, 201115 yr I got my unraid server set up like this \Alldata\Media\Films\Alien 1\.. \Alien 2\... \Series\Serie X\.. \Concerten\Concert X\... \Pictures\Travel\X\... \Music\Albums\X\.. So split level of 3 is this right? (i want alien 1 for example all together, but alien 2 may be on other disc
February 24, 201115 yr With a split level of 3, and the following structure: Alldata/Media/Films/Alien1/Alien1.avi , then the files under the Alien 1 folder will reside in the same disk. Alien 1 and Alien2 folders will be allocated based on the method you chose. You wrote some other folders there - pictures.etc - are those all under Alldata? Why not set up different shares for those?

I use high water.. So split level 3 is correct? Alien 1 files should be together Alien 2 files together too but alien 1 and 2 may be on different discs They are all under alldata, thats correct I had different shares for those but changed it cause otherwise i cant change my icons on the dune mediaplaer (it can only access 1 share at a time)
March 1, 201115 yr Im sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I didnt see your reply. Yes, under the current version, split 3 will keep all folders beneath Alien1 together on the same disk. ( 0=alldata, 1=media, 2=films, and 3= Alien1) all together in the same disk.
March 1, 201115 yr It actually goes 1=alldata, 2=media, 3=films, and 4= Alien1 You do not want Alien1 to split so use 3. Another way to look at it is that you want films to split so use 3. 0 is a special split level case. Peter
