Yes, it sounds like something else. Possibly the SATA port, SATA cable, the power supply or the power supply connector.

Thanks for your feedback. Is there any way of knowing what part may be failing?

I've tried replacing the sata cable with no luck.

There's a lot of parts in the chain.  This is the only drive that I seem to have consistant problems with.  It is the only 2 TB drive on my system but it is also the only drive that is not connected to my external Sata card.  It is connected to a Jetway 4x SATA Add-On Module with RAID Support.  Which is then connected to an ICY DOCK.  I also tried switching the cable from the Power Supply to the ICY DOCK from the SATA power cables to the older 4 pin style with no luck.  All 5 of the other drives in the other ICY DOCK (I Have two) seem to have been trouble free.

So it seems it could be narrowed down to:

1) ICY DOCK

2) Jetway 4x Sata Add-On Module

3) The motherboard itself

Aside from buying/replacing these are there other options to help troubleshoot?

The only part exclusive to this drive is that SATA card so I'd first test there.

It doesn't appear to allow me to just swap sata ports once the drive has been assigned?  Or is that not the case?
