March 5, 201115 yr Hello all. I Was wondering. Is there any plans for a plugin/addon for the "Bionics" For them that don't know what it is. See here http://boinc.berkeley.edu Open-source software for volunteer computing and grid computing. Use the idle time on your computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux) to cure diseases, study global warming, discover pulsars, and do many other types of scientific research. It's safe, secure, and easy You can get "linux" downloads here. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php I Just think it would be cool to have that CPU of mine that is not doing much really do some work at say a set level of %50 load. That way I can help the world and still save power on my AMD 5000+ CPU. Do you think it could be done? Hope to hear from somebody soon. Oddsodz
March 7, 201115 yr Here's a thread about running folding@home on a server: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2297 I'm not sure if anything came of it. I agree that a nice unRAID add-on package would make it much more attractive for people to put in the effort to contribute to grid computing projects.
March 8, 201115 yr Author I Was looking for info about unRaid 5. That is why I posted here. But I shall go and have a read ;-)
March 8, 201115 yr This should be fairly easy to do for 5.0 but I do not want to attempt anything until 5.0 is final and stable.
March 8, 201115 yr Author Oh, I Agree. No point until 5 is out the door. That is why I ask if there was any plans. Maybe a nice DEV will take up the challenge (hint hint).
October 13, 201114 yr Did you ever get it running? It's really not hard to get working using the command line. I've been running World Community Grid stuff since March I guess looking back at that old thread. If you have any issues just ask and I'll try to help. Peter
