March 13, 201115 yr Hi, over the last few days, I've noticed that my write speeds are VERY slow... i mean, 2 1/2 minutes to move a 350MB file (on the UNRaid machine) I have: 6) 2TB data drives, and a 160GB drive (dont ask) 1) 2TB parity drive, 1) 160GB drive (SAB, SickBeard, download drive as to be totally separate from the array) All my downloads go to that single 160gb drive, and then moves to the array when it's done (i am thinking that this would be considered the "cache" drive... looking at doing that next). I did a parity check last night, and no errors were found. I am not really sure what the problem is... I haven't tried rebooting the machine yet... i shoulnd't really have to i wouldn't think... the machine is: AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor 6 onboard 3gbps sata ports, Silicon Image, Inc. SiI 3114 (i think it's a vantec, with 4 ports PCI bus) asrock motherboard (forget the model) all my 2tb drives are WD20EARS and i've never had any write speed issues up until the last few days. here is a link to my "main" page of my unmenu: http://imm.io/4kmZ PLease help me figure out where to look next? STeve
March 14, 201115 yr Other more experience folks will chime in, but as I look at your drives they are all at 87% full or above, one is at 100%. It's my guess that is your problem. It may be time to add a drive or two, then balance out your drives.
March 14, 201115 yr There is no reason for things to slow down to a crawl when some of the drives are close to full. If it did that then it should be considered a design flaw on the part of unraid.
