November 13, 200718 yr I have seen cables that claim convert mini SAS to 4 SATA plugs. This is a double barrelled question: 1. Do these cables do what it looks like they do i.e. allow you to plug a standard SATA card into a caddy with a mini-SAS / iSAS / SFF8087 backplane 2. In this scenario what end is the HOST and what is the TARGET For context see: http://www.cs-electronics.com/iSAS-cables-NEW.htm for the cables and http://www.xcase.co.uk/p/291029/chenbro-rm-414b-package-2---16-drive-hotswap-sata-ii-with-16-drive-backplane-600-watt-seasonic-248-psurail-kitmini-sas-isas-sff8087-.html for the backplane. Appreciated for any advice as this is no trivial amount of money.
