Windows SMB - slow transfer speeds

Featured Replies

Hello, since a couple of weeks i am noticing a considerable performance degrate when writing to my UnRAID server.

Max transfer speeds went down from a steady 100-110 MBytes/s to 60-70 MBytes/s even on cached directories.

I have already searched around but am at a total loss as far as my knowledge reaches.

I started with a simple iPerf test:

Looks completely fine to me.

I then went through and did a quick disk speed test.

Also no cpmplains from my side.

I then dug through the forum and found out that SHFS could have a performance impact on write speeds (seemed like a far shot as a once got good speeds). So i enabled Disk Shares and copied straight to the cache. Same result.

I get about 3-4 MB/s performance gain when switching to performance instead of ondemand governor.

Specs of the machine:

Ryzen 5 3500x

16GB RAM

1x ST4000NE001

3x ST4000DM005

2x SSD 850 EVO (Cache - Raid 1)

All drives are formatted with btrfs and have Write Cache enabled. All test were done with all drives spun up.

Any help would be appreciated. Hit me up for any further diagnostic data. Unraid is 6.9.2

Thanks!

Is the issue only upload or also download? Did you ran iperf the other way?
