Unassigned Devices not detecting Seagate ST8000DM004

Featured Replies

I've recently shucked my Seagate Desktop Drive; which was loaded with a Seagate ST8000DM004. When I install the drive into the server like the other drives in my case, unraid doesn't seem to detect the drive. I've attempted the 3.3v mod with no such luck.

I was able to get unraid to detect the drive if I connect it via a USB Sata Dock.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Rudy

Connect the disk to the onboard SATA controller and check if it's detected in the BIOS.

Thank you I will give that a try

I still haven't had a change to give this a try.

I should mention that I am using a Dell H200 6Gbps HBA LSI 9211, to connect my drives but I see what you're saying here.

I'll follow up once I'm able to tinker. thanks again!

That was the ticket!

Any ideas why the LSI 9211 couldn't detect it?

It should, pretty sure others have used that same model disk before with one.

Thanks JorgeB, just wanted to follow up and say the issue was with the icyDock that I'm using. Works like a charm connected directly to the HBA. Thanks!
