Is my HDD dying?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

While writing to one of my drives Unraid notified me that the drive had read errors and that the drive had been disabled.

I removed the drive from the array and re-added it, but this didn't fix the problem.

The overall-health SMART status is "passed" but I ran an extended SMART test and it says that errors occurred.

Is this drive dying? or is there a different problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately yes. Attributes 1 and 200 should always be at 0 for Western Digital drives. You have very high values.

And the last extended tests failed with a failure to read.

I thought that might be the case. I guess I'm going shopping for a new drive.

Thank-you very much for your help.
