Supermicro X11DAC, C621 chipset: yes/no?

Featured Replies

After looking at the compatibility list and scouring the forums, and reddit, I haven't come across anyone talking about this motherboard. The reason why it caught my attention are the SAS3 ports and a good amount of PCIe ports. So, I'd like to make sure this board will work.

Intel chipset works fine, I have an X11SPL-F with the same, SAS is LSI 3008, so it's also fine, but ideally in IT mode.

Should I be concerned with the onboard SAS, or should it run just as well had I bought a card running in IT mode?

It should be possible to flash it to IT mode, and if not it should still work in RAID mode, but IT would be better.

Thanks for the info and quick response. I'm just learning that onboard SAS controllers can be flashed, and I've already found a couple tutorials... seems no different as if you were flashing a card.

Yes, should be the same.
