Transfer Unraid from PC to Dell Poweredge R710 server

Featured Replies

Hello Unraid team,

I attempted to transfer my HDDs and USB from my PC Unraid server to my new Dell Poweredge R710 server.

I was able to get Unraid started on the R710 server but the allocation of the HDD (same allocation as the original PC server) was not recognized ( I was getting a wrong disk error message). All HDDs are configured as RAID 0 and setup as individual virtual disks. I did not reinitialize the HDDs since I do not want to lose the data.

Any idea on how to transfer the server?

RAID controllers aren't recommended, for this and other reasons.

Can you source a plain HBA SAS controller from the recommended controller list? That would greatly simplify things.

Thanks for the input. I have heard about replacing the PERC HT700 RAID controller with a HT200 flashed with IT mode. I was wondering what is the difference that the HT200 would bring to fix my issue?

Native drive recognition and access.

Hey I moved my unRAID from an HPE microserver to an r710. I assigned it the same IP via my router and by LAN everything works fine but I can't access anything from the internet. Anyone know what the problem might be? I didn't change anything but something was obviously overlooked.
