March 4, 20224 yr Community Expert Please provide us with more information on your system-- especially, the maker and model of the Motherboard. EDIT your first post to add this information to the end of the thread's title. There are some MB's that will change the boot order when a new drive is added. Some MB's also have different ways that they treat attached USB drives-- floppy disk, Hard drive, etc. Make sure that yours is being mounted as a hard drive. Some BIOS have had issues like this (not wanting to boot from a USB) when the number of attached HD's exceed a 'magic' number. You might want to consider checking for a BIOS upgrade. I seem to recall that I have seen BIOS's that have two different areas in them where you setup the boot-up options--- one where you first set the order for the class of device (Floppy disk, CD drive, hard drive, etc.) and a second section where you select the order of the the HD's. Describe (or, better, take a photo) of the console screen that shows the error when the BIOS is attempting to boot an OS. You should also post up the Diagnostics file ( Tools >>> Diagnostics ) to a new post. This is a relatively uncommon problem and there is no single solution to it. So that is the reason for the requested info so that some Guru (or user) will recognize what is happening in your case and provide you with a solution that will work. PS: Be sure you read the MB's manual and the BIOS manual (sometimes they are separate documents). You may have to go to the Website for your MB to get these as some manufacturers don't ship the complete manual with the MB.
March 4, 20224 yr Author Support replied quickly with the following fix ” Many BIOS will rearrange the boot order when you add new devices. You should reconfirm that the flash drive is the first device in the order. Additionally, many BIOS prefer that you set the hard drive to be the first boot device, but within the hard drive priorities you have the option to set the flash drive as the first "hard drive" to boot from. “ will edit as Solved Thanks!
