Starter Set received - No Post Screen/No beeps

Featured Replies

I have been an AMD guy since 97 so its possible I am so out of practice with Intel boards I am missing a very (seemingly) obvious step to get my board to the post screen

I just recieved my SS-1200/IDE and hooked it up and i seem to get the same issues madpoet reported in the AVS forum.

1) to my own 4U server case.

2) new 550 PSU for this system. Order from Newegg - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817148027  (not 20amps in the 12Vrail, is this the problem??)

3) No keyboard/mouse are plugged in.

I turned on the back power supply after plugging it in and the Intel Fan fires up, but No Post

I unplugged and took out my promise controllers. No Post

I took out my memory - No Post.

I powered it on w/ the USB flash stick and w/o it. No Post.

I tried an AGP video card. Nope.

I tried with the PSU 12V ATX and it does not fire up at all. So I plugged the case's power switch jumper to the MoBo's front panel connecters and still no power on.

It at least gets power (and the mobo's green light it list) when i do not connect the extra PSU12V ATX plug. But still no post screen.

Can someone offer any tips i may have missed before i take the next step?

Tom, I also sent this to you via support email.

Thanks!
