Request driver firmware update for Realtek NIC r8169

Featured Replies

I would like to request an driver update for the Realtek Ethernet Network Card:

Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller

Currently there is the driver firmware rtl8168g-2_0.0.1 02/06/13 used:

ethtool -i eth0
driver: r8169
version: 5.15.30-Unraid
firmware-version: rtl8168g-2_0.0.1 02/06/13
expansion-rom-version:
bus-info: 0000:03:00.0
supports-statistics: yes
supports-test: no
supports-eeprom-access: no
supports-register-dump: yes
supports-priv-flags: no

As I can see on a Debian 11 linux there is a more recent driver firmware available -> rtl8168h-2_0.0.2 02/26/15 :

sudo ethtool -i eno1
driver: r8169
version: 5.10.0-11-amd64
firmware-version: rtl8168h-2_0.0.2 02/26/15
expansion-rom-version:
bus-info: 0000:03:00.0
supports-statistics: yes
supports-test: no
supports-eeprom-access: no
supports-register-dump: yes
supports-priv-flags: no

The reason for this request is, that the upstream speed is reduced by around 30%.

Thank you!
