Whaler_99
Just did a quick check - that mobo is ATX but the case is Micro-ATX/Mini-ITX. Not sure the board will fit in the case... Shawn Link to comment
djidy
Thanks for your answer. Are you sure that the mobo is only ATX ? On asus website, on specifications, it is marked as "uATX Form Factor"... Link to comment
grandprix
Thanks for your answer. Are you sure that the mobo is only ATX ? On asus website, on specifications, it is marked as "uATX Form Factor"... "uATX" should be µATX; however, many (if not all, myself included) use the non-high ascii "u" for ease. I see Newegg is doing it as well, shame on them. µATX / "uATX" / MicroATX --- all the same thing. Link to comment
Whaler_99
µATX / "uATX" / MicroATX --- all the same thing. Thanks for the clarification Grandprix. But looking at a pic of the board, sure doesn't look Micro. Shawn Link to comment
Johnm
it is a microATX board. At that price, I might look at a socket 1155 with an i3-2100. The cost should be about the same? It would be tad faster and tad less electricity. Link to comment

Shawn Interesting, got a link to that data? I'm running a 1155 myself and at least one board is level1 I'm using all 6 on-board sata ports with no errors yet. But i am running 5 beta6a, that might make a difference? Link to comment
Whaler_99
There was some discussion around it here. Looks like it was a specific chipset error: That helps narrow things down a little bit. You have an H67 board, whereas mine is an H61. Any chance you could take a peek at your user manual to see what chipset your SATA controller uses? It must just be the H61 LGA 1155s. So something to that H61 chipset, although the OP did get the drives finally working by running them in IDE Compatibilty mode, not sure how that effects performance versus AHCI mode and such... So, I guess try and stick with the H67, and possibly, P67 chipsets... Shawn Link to comment
Johnm
Ah, I'm running a C204 chipset. the C202 also appears to work. the 204 has SATA3 and the C202 has only SATA2. Thanks for the info Link to comment
djidy
I've followed your advices and went to a i3 2100 solution. My first post has been adapted. Once again, thanks for your input and don't hesitate to comment Link to comment
Johnm
Oh, hold on 1 second. I think that was the board someone said did not work! It looks like the one that was free from microcenter a month back. Speaking of microcenter, If you have one near you, I3-2100 are $99. it might be in store only. check the web site i'll check that board. EDIT: Ok It was the MSI H61M-E33 LGA 1155 H61 mATX Intel Motherboard that didnt work with unRAID4.7, just 5.0 beta. So that looks good for your needs. It would also make a nice compact desktop or HTPC in a smaller case. I wonder how fast unRAID would boot if you had a USB3 thumbdrive...? (not that you should be rebooting it!) EDIT2: I just checked. it is $99.99 pick up only. That will be a very clean looking and quiet unRAID box with a bit of horsepower under its hood if you run any add-ons. Link to comment
