Eth0 not found after update to 6.10.2

Featured Replies

I updated Unraid using GUI to 6.10.2 and after reboot I get message Eth0 is not found and no ethernet port is working. The computer is a HP DL-380 Gen9.  How do I roll back versions or resolve this potential driver issue?

That server has an issue with the ethernet drivers.  Read the release notes

I will let someone else chime in but I am pretty sure your only option right now is to downgrade or disable VT-d.  VMs will still work but you won't be able to pass through devices to the VMs

In my old diagnostic log (ifconfig) Eth0 shows this.

eth0: flags=6211<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SLAVE,MULTICAST>  mtu 1500
        ether c4:34:6b:b7:13:f4  txqueuelen 1000  (Ethernet)
        RX packets 4054501  bytes 3942148867 (3.6 GiB)
        RX errors 0  dropped 0  overruns 0  frame 0
        TX packets 2562515  bytes 1002392396 (955.9 MiB)
        TX errors 0  dropped 0 overruns 0  carrier 0  collisions 0
        device interrupt 16

In new log it shows this were Eth0 was.

gre0: flags=128<NOARP> mtu 1476
        unspec 00-00-00-00-00-00-A8-1C-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 txqueuelen 1000 (UNSPEC)
        RX packets 0 bytes 0 (0.0 B)
        RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0
        TX packets 0 bytes 0 (0.0 B)
        TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0

If you don't need IOMMU disable vt-d and the NIC will come back, you can still use VMs with vt-d disabled, just can't pass-through any PCIe device to one.

Also a question if you don't mind, did you update directly from v6.9 to v6.10.2 or did you also use the previous v6.10.x releases?
